I’ve had this lil guy sitting unfinished on my desk since 2021. While I was painting another recent project, I realized I had all the right colors to turn him into a thylacine. <3

The Northern Lands

The northern lands, unknown to man

Were home to beasts since times of old

To drakes that fly in snowy sky,

And wolves that hunt in forests, cold.

But then Man came to stake his claim,

And struggled long, to tame the land.

At each dawn break, another drake,

Was slaughtered by the hands of man.

Man took their skins to break the wind,

For deadly was the winter chill.

Their brothers slew, the dire wolves knew,

The heart of man was colder still.

Then howls rang and voices sang,

To mourn another species doom.

And those who died, they now reside,

East of the sun, west of the moon.

Can some shifters have a prehistoric/extinct animal form? Or is it exclusively modern day ones?

I think that there might still be some extinct animals like the thylacine because there are no humans to hunt them down and destroy their habitat.Prehistoric might be a little to “old” to fit well in the story ^^
