Baldwin was visibly relieved when he approached the door to his home. It had been a long day of endless emails both sent to him about business and congregational matters; to also sending emails onto Diana, his sister. Diana had yet to answer one, which in his consternation made him write even more. There were also phone calls to make and receive and multiple questions from his staff. It had not been a quiet day. His head had started to pound around noon had not stopped.
Here he was finally back at home, hoping to the gods that his mate would want to spend a quiet, dark, evening together on the sofa, sharing a bottle of wine, or two.
However the scene that awaited him when he swung the door open was completely different. Baldwin quirked an eyebrow up and he stepped inside There she stood using the sitting rooms decorative mirror to take out the earrings dangling from her ears. Baldwin closed the door of their flat with a thud. This was not what he was expecting. Hearing the sound, Lila turned around and smiled at him.
“Oh good you’re home. This is as far as I got. I just got home myself.” The tendrils of her hair falling down helterskecter around her face. She turned back around to take out the other earring.
“Just what are you wearing?” Baldwin stared at her.
“You should know of course.” Lila playfully said. She watched him in the mirror. As she placed the jewelry she was taking off on the mantle. “You know I could use your help.”
“I do know, but why are you wearing it?” Why for all that is holy did she continue to think that dressing in this manner was educational or fun. He didn’t say it to her, if course, just approached her. Hands ready to help.
“Well, I’ve been teaching my class about Women’s suffurage and the people and events that lead up to universal suffrage around the world. So I thought it would be fun to show them what the women actually wore. “ Lila worked the buttons on her white cotton blouse.
Baldwin made a sound of annoyance, this was not a time when her teacher voice was at all sexy. For crying out loud she was dressed like an Edwardian School Marm.
“Can you at least help me with the layers?” She asked. Lila knew that sound and wanted to get him out of his mood.
He reached for the hook and eyes that held her skirt around her waist. “You do realize that what you call historically accurate layers are neither sexy nor fun to take off, whatever those period drama, bodice ripper, shows you so much enjoy like to suggest.” Lilas skirt fell to the floor and she step out of it and spun around to face him.
“Why, Mr. Montclair. Whatever do you mean? I seem to recall something completely different.” She giggled, hopefully it would make him feel better.
Baldwin mocked rolled his eyes. “Oh yes all these layers until I get to the actual corset. So enjoyable.” He started in on the buttons of her princess slip.
“But you do have first hand experience. So it should be second, or third nature to you by now. You did live through it.”
“I didn’t expect to continue having keep up on my Edwardian removal of undergarments. Let alone my mate in this century...” Baldwin stopped to watch as he slid the last small white button through the button hole and pushed the garment off her shoulders and down to the floor.
All Lila could do was smile as she turned around. “Thank you for working the buttons. You know I have such a hard time with them.” She whispered.
Baldwin unfashioned the button that held on her petticoat. “Well we’re finally here. Now turn around so I can undo the corset cover.” Unduing her buttons was actually cathartic. He didn’t have to think what to do next. She was right, it may not be sexy, but it was calming him down. He was also spending some much needed time with her, even if he did have to work for it. Baldwin sliped the cover over her head. Besides her standing here now, in her corset, drawers, chemise, stockings and shoes was starting to get more sexy.
Baldwin untied her drawers. Sinking down he helped her with her boots.
“You know I would like relief from this corset.”
Baldwin chuckled. “I know my dear.”
“Well, I’ll just untie...”
“You’ll do no such thing.” Baldwin cut her off and he reached up slightly under her chemise to start unrolling her silk stockings. As he pulled them down he placed kisses on her thighs and knees. Hands roving down her leg.
“I thought you said layers weren’t sexy?” Lila’s voice thickening
“Some are.” Baldwin said nonchalantly. He could tell this was turning her on. It always did. Her legs free of the silk, Baldwin stood back up. “Corsets for instance create a very desirable femine shape.”
His hand moved along her waist. His kisses on her collar bone, neck, behind her ear. She was helpless and melted into him. Baldwin continued around the back. He stood taking her in. Her shape. The frilly details on her corset. Lila leaned back into him and instantly his arms went around her. They stayed like that for a few minutes.
Baldwin broke the silence. “Hey.” He whispered in her ear. “I suggest we spend the evening in bed. How does that sound?”
Lila fluttered her eye lids open. “Wonderful. I was just able to put a bottle of wine on your side table before you got home.”
Baldwin gently pushed her away so he could loosen the lacings of her corset. “I love you.” He said unting them. He stopped her arms as she reached up to undue the busk. “Let me.” He spun her around and undid the metal parts. “There you go. Down to your chemise.” Pulling her flush against him he kissed her before sweeping her up off her feet and carrying her to the bedroom. Her discarded layers forgotten on the floor.

Okay, quick story time: Yesterday, as i was eating dinner at a restaurant with my family, we sat by a window (It was also raining outside). Now, a little bit after we sat down, we see a man in a bright red polo shirt start riding a unicycle up and down the sidewalk outside the restaurant. Now, of course, i wanted to take a picture but he left for i think 5-10 minutes, then came in, picked up food, and left. It was the weirdest restaurant experience of my life (so far). Oh yeah, not that much later an ambulance stopped outside the restaurant next-door to the one we were in and went inside to pick-up food...i think. Also saw a pickup truck with a whole other trailer attached with a single motorcycle in it and nothing else. I think i live in a weird town...maybe. It just might be the average American Town.

Relationships
It’s important to experience different things with someone before you decide to spend the rest of your life tied to them - in any way.
You may love them, you may have been with them since high school, but if you haven’t experienced some of the more stressful aspects of life with them - it’s a lot tougher to see if you’ll still fit.
Just because a relationship is amazing when times are sunny doesn’t mean it’ll survive the rain.
I won’t dismiss or degrade any relationship by saying you need to be in ‘real life’ like we hear so often - high school and college are real life after all - but I will say that if you’ve spent all those years living at home and never having to take on the additional responsibilities (the ones that often come after high school/college like bills and schedule juggling) it will be difficult to say how your significant other will deal with them along side you. Hell, you won’t know how you’re going to deal with them so how can you judge if they’re ways will mesh with your own?
Could you end up with your high school or college sweetheart for the rest of your life? Sure! And if you do that’s amazing! But make sure that you know each other and how you’ll deal with the tough stuff before you make a jump that’s difficult to recover from - like marriage.
Take your time and be sure.
And if they are pressuring you to make that decision quickly? Well that might be a sign that things aren’t as sunny as you may believe.
You can’t plan for everything, but you can plan for the things you already know you’ll face.
This journey of diary is def gonna be interesting experience with this app. I’m looking forward what’s I’m growing from. ❤️
