i love how nathan fillion's guy gardner introduced so many people to the green lanterns. at the same time i hate how some people decided now to just air out their hatred for hal jordan like he killed their families or something with that kind of vitriol like why did i just see someone harass someone's art of hal by reblogging with shitty tags "kys" lmao like what is it with hal jordan that pisses people off so much
The Green Lanterns becoming mainstream also means that the most annoying people who have never touched a comic are going to talking nonsense, but thats how it usually goes with most adaptions so I’m used to it, as long as they dont clog the tags. AND I SAW THE THING WITH THE HAL FANART WHICH WAS?? Could you not have had the decency to tag saying it was about Hal before spamming that shit?? Like the person tagging that was a Hal fan, I saw their blog before they deleted the reblog, but the lack of proper etiquette towards the artist was so fucking weird. If you’re going to do that nonsense then atleast give forewarning so it doesnt look like you’re spamming death threats to the artist.
The Hal hate thing is probably just a consequence of people finding him annoying because of the DCAMU because in his comics he’s much more mature, and comparatively much more light hearted than a lot of his team ups. It’s a running joke to hate him since he’s a bit of an ass, but a lot of people just spam the Hal and GL tags with this bullshit of him getting his ass kicked by the batfam because of this for some reason?? When a lot of them very much get along with him??? Him and Bruce are literally friends, they just fight sometimes as team mates because their fighting styles are so different, but Hal and Bruce are very good friends. It’s just a consequence of how comics function since it’s harder to get a grasp of certain relationships considering how segregated the characters are a lot of the time, but a lot of it is just fanon rumour that became a running gag in the more fanon circles and it just leaks into our tags. As long as they dont tag with Hal, I don’t care.
Also the 2011 movie that shat on the entire mythos that worsened Hal’s entire reputation to the wider public and even in some comic circles.
