WHAT THE FUCK IS WDC:BB? (it's complicated)

Hohooh, this will be fun. Let me try to explain how this happened in the simplest of ways, without being put in virtual jail. As it's truly this:

It all started back in 2021. When we were still young, naive and pure....

The Ruby Lucas Appreciation life was seeing a resurgence thanks to some maniacs out there somewhere. Gifsets were flowing, asks were coming in, ideas were brewing.

The domino pieces were being placed...

Anon sends me a message about a trope they like. I agree. I imagine Red Queen in that trope. Kat (@lovecanbesostrange) sees the vision.

A writing demon takes over Kat's body. She writes a fic.

Safe Cage is born.

Unrelated to that (somehow)

Anon sends me a message to share a fun fact about a college football team with an interesting name. I reply with a silly idea for a story. As you can see in the replies under the post, Kat and I went mad again.

The Ruby Lucas Harem Server is created.

RRCAU is born.

It doesn't stop there...

RRCAU is developed over three years of collaboration and compatible unhinged behaviour. The story grows, we uncover the backstory, the supporting characters, the dynamics, the many different developments... It's a complete story.

But see. Kat has been cursed with a fantastic, fruitful imagination...

We had a habit of taking stories and imagining "What-Ifs" to some scenarios (because we struggle with definite decisions when it comes to plot, and we like to experiment! who doesn't?). It was fun to think of what could have been different and how that change would affect the larger story.

Soon enough, Kat had a thought: What if, instead of changing an event in the later parts of the story, we changed it in the very beginning?

What if Ruby's miserable up-bringing in a trailer park with a passively neglectful mother... was WORSE?

What If: Ruby was raised in troubling poverty by a physically, verbally and mentally abusive, constantly intoxicated mother?

Worse!RRCAU is born.

Still not connected to that (Palpatine has returned)

Anon sends me a message about Regina wanting people to kneel. I reply with a joke about Ruby being eager to kneel, so they work as a couple.

Kat sees that. She adds to that. She chooses violence. And she writes about it.

DRK AU is born.

These three AUs lived together in harmony. (Ruby disagrees. She keeps getting fucked over).

Until a 4am thought attacked.

Narrator: she did think mean things.

We.... thouroughly fucked Red over this time. Meticulously. We thought nothing of it. Torturing Red was routine. It was for fun! A 4am angsty brain fart!

But then the scary thing happened: it started to make sense.

There was no coming back from there. The story took over. We had no power over it. It had power over us.

WDC combined the three big stories that contributed the least with the rent in our heads:

Worse (Worse!RRCAU) brought the world without magic and the usual translations that came with it. Along with the setting, it brought the feeling of Red's early life and how it shaped her to be accostumed to abuse. Dark (DRK AU) brought the torture, the body mods, the calculated disfiguration of Red and the need for a domestic life that would attempt to heal it. Cage (Safe Cage) brought the most important: Corrupted Red Snow. Red as Snow's weapon. The manipulation, the abuse, the years and years of conditioning, lying, training, until Red was no longer a person, but a monster to serve Snow's needs. Originally, it also brought Regina, as the opposition to Snow's force, and the person that stepped in at the right time to rescue Red.

It was clear. It was obvious. It was meant to exist.

Art was made.

And something that's important to note: in WDC, Red is kind of the bad guy. She's Snow's Bodyguard, Guard Dog, Pet. She has no agency, and she does whatever Snow orders her to do.

Including severely hurting Belle.

The way that Red hurt Belle is critical to WDC. (Don't worry, I won't go there). It's a major part of Red's story, and a defining moment in Belle's development. The trauma was even responsible for the unearthing of a new ship: Kansas Beauty. A relationship that began in, of all places, a mental health facility.

It was a fascinating story. A vessel to some dark, dark thoughts. It was to be kept in a secret alley, to never see the light of day (much like WDC!RED—). I failed at that one job, but... whatever. Anyway!!

We explored other stories, parallel to that. We have the range. (While confined to the Red Snow spectrum...) We thought of different things...

Then. Kat thought more thoughts.

And I indulged her with a list of possibilities to fit that desire. Among which there was:

Kat had even more thoughts.

This change took us to a similar place, with a similar brain wave. (It happens often)

And.... yeah..... This had some... unforseen consequences.....

I need to like explain wtf is going on with me

So basically the gist is I've got people in my head but I don't reckon I got DID

I've been dissociated, like mostly, for years up until I was 11 (6th grade, quarantine 2020)

I remember things, alot actually, but it's weirdly placed, like not how memories are meant to function, but I do know things

When I was in prep 4 members of The Server (what I call the 'voices'/headspace) joined

Pat, Star and, John (Pat and Star aren't their real names)

Along with Cassandrina (Cass) and Uruki

Cass was a fucking cat and Uruki is a dog, they're not part of the server

The Server has 19 people in it, not everyone's always here and we can leave when we want

Best comparison is think of it as a discord call, you can leave and join later, you can mute both you and other people

Amethyst and Taro are on the server 24/7 they somehow know how to be there while sleeping

The Sever has their own bodies, or least its like they do

They're different to my characters but they have lives and stuff, they cannot take over (switch with) me

Cass and Uruki can but they cannot

They CAN talk through me, but that's just me putting them on speaker

I'm not gonna claim to have DID I just keep seeing stuff and I wanna join in on the conversation but also like ;-; I just have friends I've been stuck with since grade 1

No new ones have been added since 2020, Amethyst was the last one to join in 2020 before everyone joined 2014-2019

So uh. The stories things I've been thinking about.

Yeah.

I'll start with how it works.

The universe where the stories are located, is not really an universe by itself. It's in a cabin in the woods, with a comical amount of art supplies, like mostly blank A4 papers, sketchbooks, canvases, etc.

The universe itself is those materials, it being the art inside those. There are 3 basic worlds, those being made out of pencil's graphite, watercolors, and ink, each being set in those art stuff mentioned above, respectively.

The stories are controlled by a Narrator, who is a character by themselves (Imagine them like The Stanley Parable's Narrator), and they have created lots of stories, each going through the stages of the graphite, watercolor, and ink worlds, in the same progress of doodles, painted sketches, and paintings.

Lots, and lots of stories have been created, developed, and finished. Everytime, the Narrator feels like something could be different from what they could have thought of. Then, they have the idea of introducing their own power into the story, by adding an object capable of controlling the universe. It works by grabbing it, and drawing/erasing the thing you want like a pencil. It looks like a purple, glowing feather, and it normally floats.

After the Narrator does this, their next story now goes very differently, which I'll tell you soon enough, in another post. The protagonist's name is Zero. They're a robot in the 1980's. :]

What's your Violent Protag Wars AU? Looks like Makoto lost his prominent ahoge spike.

The Violent Protag Wars AU, more commonly shortened down to VPW, is an AU created by me and a friend one day while we were bored in school. The VPW AU started out very much as a shxtpost between my friend and I, but as time went on, we developed a kind of storyline.

The shxtpost surrounded Kaede and Hajime mostly, with Shuichi, Makoto, Nagito and Kokichi as the other characters. It started when my friend sent me a picture of Nagito and I typed “Go away bagelmaeda.” And she sent a picture of, well, Spoilers Nagito in which I responded “NOOO- HAJIME [Spoilers, cause reasons]-“ and in which she responded with one of Hajime’s sprites and then I responded with a Kaede sprite and so on.

The actual VPW universe includes a bunch more characters, including Komaru, Ibuki, Maki, Nagisa, and most importantly, Monaca. The story revolves mostly around Monaca and her attempts to cause despair, with some people, Makoto being one of them, dying but being held to the earth by something else. For example, my friend and I took the concept of a soul being trapped by machinery for Makoto. Sometimes, their appearances are based off of other things, like Shuichi’s is based off the Cheshire Cat and Hajime’s is based off Marionette Puppets. Other times it’s just whatever we feel fits the character best.

Also, Makoto didn’t lose his ahoge spike, it’s just with the way I’ve learned to draw Makoto’s hair, his ahoge is curlier and tends to fall down a little more. It’s more a “do I want to do line art or lazy sketches?” thing rather than a design issue.

Protagonist ahoges are usually more prominent but I just didn’t draw it as carefully this time. Usually, you can see them a bit more clearly, like in the photos I drew below. I can’t draw spiky hair very easily, I’m sorry 😅 Below are either the references or sprites I’ve made over the almost year we’ve done VPW.

I hope that answers your question Anon! It’s really hard to explain the universe without writing an essay on it. It’s got a bit of a history behind it, as well as lots of connections, design concepts and other ideas that would take a lot of explaining too.

Don’t be afraid to ask any other questions you have. This is an AU that differs a bit from the canon. That’s the fun of AU’s!

Basically...

The two above are anti Jules and anti Charles, both of which scourge would have idolized as a child bc they were both in some way important to the kingdom, the peace make and a general.

The middle is his mother, Aleena (aka anti Bernie), someone who was banished from the kingdom and eventually finds herself being a cult leader in a group of which worship an alien in a cave.

Anti Vanilla being his rebellious role model that was against that current king, as though there was peace, he would have control over people and slaughter who may be in his way to keep that peace. She is the first person he meets outside the castle walls.

Anti Elias is a troublemaking role model for scourge, they would play pranks and make trouble within the castle walls. This ends up becoming a catalyst to what may become.

Scourge himself is referred to by “Tobias” (or Toby as Elias puts it.), he is generally behaved child who tends to push his luck every now and then. He works hard to show his dad that he is usefula rn how strong he is to his uncle, and being unsuccessful. Albeit his studies are great, his peope skills is something he has some work on. After some events that lead up to his innocence being torn away by deaths and returns, he sees how cruel the world is and denies any part of his noble heratige. Destroying anything he gets his hands on.

This story starts when he’s the green fan fav, his full story is to be revealed later. Right now I’m just trying to write something down, hopefully draw this as a comic or to stay a story. I’m not the best writer so it might end up being a comic eventually..

Don’t be too hopefully though, it’ll take me a while to get there, but I hope soon to continue and start something?
