DISember2025 Day 19 ~ Eyvind Earle
This one was easily the most challenging to do since Eyvind Earle is more known for his BREATHTAKING background designs then characters, so choosing how to tackle this prompt was definitely interesting.
Ultimately I decided on focusing on a character from a film he worked on, and honestly, I think Lady and the Tramp had my favorite visuals from him personally!! Also really wanted to draw some Tramp for this month, and I think this was a good opportunity!
And of course, I can't do this guy justice than appreciating his work in it's entirety. Seriously, this guy is OUTSTANDING!!
"There's a great big hunk of world down there, with no fence around it. Where two dogs can find adventure and excitement. And beyond those distant hills, who knows what wonderful experiences? And it's all ours for the taking, Pige. It's all ours."
Why does Eyvind look like this cat?
She leaned back against the monolith, eyes closed, and knew in an instant that there was one image she could not put aside, one loss that stayed starkly foremost in her thoughts. Gold, red, the sun glinted on the waterfall fringe of his helm; silver, gold, the light caught the fire in his axe and flashed it like a beacon. He fell. Boots trampled his limp body. Gold, red, his blood-soaked hair curled gently around his solemn, pale features; blue met blue, his empty eyes gazing up on empty sky, seeking answers where there were none. She had sent him before her to die. She had sacrificed him for nothing. She had squandered what she had not known was precious. This was a small loss beside the slaughter of the Folk, a little thing beside the death of their king. The priestess understood that. But the woman felt it like a heart-wound, she knew in this hurt her own frailty, her own longing, her own mortality. He was hers, and she had killed him.

I recently finished playing the first of the Banner Saga trilogy and the art for that game really inspired me to try out some new stuff. They were heavily influenced by Eyvind Earle, who worked on Sleeping Beauty. So I used a bunch of new brushes, actually did some sort of environment for a change and just did flat colours for the character. More stuff like this maybe?
i love the banner saga so much but there is not enough content here for me:(
(contains spoilers) here are some images i made for the banner saga 3
