Will looking in the mirror ever feel good again?
I'm pretty sure nothing of the like makes a drastic or even a noticeable change from what I've gathered, but would getting on estradiol or similar make any changes to the skin between upper lip and nose? Or the lips themselves?
People on E can chime in here with their personal experiences but outside of the general changes that it makes to skin and hair texture (softening, lightening texture) i’m not familiar with any additional changes that happen around the upper lip/nose area or the lips. Similarly, on T, I was hoping that my very red and pouty (”feminine”) lips would be more “masculine” (thin, pale), but i think that’s just more genetic and less hormonal. I don’t find anything based in science that says there’s strong evidence that HRT after puberty (versus if you were starting it after blockers as a young person) can change the shape. I do find some conversations with some people reporting they think they’ve experienced some changes. Mod mayhem

These photos were taken starting 1 day on Testosterone and then every month until now. Top left is 1 day on T, bottom right is 8 months. I am 8 months on T currently. I have been taking 0.25 mL weekly. I do intramuscular injections in my upper thigh.

I’m three and a half months on T and I’ve gotten a lot of fat on my face, specifically my jaw and lower part of my cheeks. Do you know if it might still be water retention at this point? I don’t really like it but I don’t want to stop taking T, it’d just be nice to know.
That could definitely be water retention. It may seem counter-intuitive, but drinking more water can help reduce that. Additionally, T can cause your jaw to become more angular/wider, so it’s possible that it’s not just water retention changing your face shape.
- Mod RabbitOne of the major facial changes (fat redistribution) in testosterone is to make your face wider. in the first three months, that’s awfully soon to see so much change, but you may notice widening in the places you describe that is lasting as long as you’re on Tmod mayhem
Some pre-t pictures of myself! Taken roughly 3 months apart
My nose is ... different ...
