It was cold. It was dark. Azrael wasn’t there. Those were the three things that Cecil noticed when he finally came to, in what he could only assume was a dungeon. Even in his struggle to remember, the last thing he could recall was Kallen grabbing him, then calling on the shadows... his throat throbbed. Damn Kallen, that hurt.
He shivered. It was completely dark, but it was almost dark enough for the shadows to creep in. That pup him more on edge, and he curled himself up in the corner of his cell.
Did this mean they failed, then? Obviously... he wouldn’t be in a cell in Alluka, otherwise. What would happen to them now? Gods... what would happen to Morgan? Not that Cecil really thought that Tristan would really make good on their deal... but it wasn’t like they had any other choice.
He had no idea how long he’d been there, but he just kept to his corner and kept silent. When he finally heard footsteps approaching, he gave no outward sign that he heard.
