Hey! I’m documenting some old samples for a massive online trunk sale, and there’s really nothing like retaking old photos to force you to see that a lot of things have really gotten better—I think my tech and my lighting have both improved. Since I’m linking to old patterns without having the time to update them, I’m putting some of the older ones on a 20% off sale through October 30th, 2024, and that runs about the same as a new pattern promo—no code required; if you’re not seeing this you might be surprised by the discount; the 20% comes off the listed price automatically.
Great day to rest and knit outside. Cough cough - hack hack - achooo! (Darn covid)
happy spooky season everyone!
guess it's time to plan out the fall properly, since the colder months are coming and spooky season is officially started :)
this is going to be a post about my plans for autumn/early winter. I will also most likely (very likely) not complete all of these, so they may be saved for next year!

socks:
Spooky Season Socks (~$5.78)

I plan to make my own pattern based on a sweater from a picture of my uncle when he was ~19 :) it's a really pretty cable knit sweater and I can't find a close enough pattern anywhere, so I'll be posting about that soon! (I'll also be posting the pattern on Ravelry once it's completed :) )

that's about all I have! happy spooky season everyone!
The Autumn Leaves pattern is live!
Autumn is the best time of year. Spiced lattes, cozy sweaters, and pumpkins. But the best part is the beautiful fall leaves in reds, oranges, and yellows. The Autumn Leaves fingerless mitts will keep your hands warm during walks through the park, to the coffee, or even just to and from work, so you can admire the beauty around you in comfort and coziness.
I knit these ones in Midknit Cravings Spiced Latte set, which includes Cinnamon, Spiced Latte, and Pacific Rim in Light Sock, which is super soft and cozy.
As always, a huge thank you goes out to my testers for their feedback to make sure this pattern is the best it can be!
You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry, Ko-fi, or on my website through the link in my bio. (Ko-fi members get 10-25% off depending on their tier.)

It’s Fall! Breakout the Sweaters! Hepburn Pullover for Autumn
One of the problems with starting projects is finished them after the season is over. So there was the faux-fur lined coat I managed to get done in August, and this sweater which I finished in May. So I have been looking forward to breaking it out for the cool autumn weather.
This is the Hepburn Pullover by Jennifer Wood. The cables reminded me of tree roots, so I decided to opt for fall colors. It is knitted top-down with small cables and shaped with short rows (which means the pattern acknowledges that your shoulders and neck take up space). After some knitters got confused about the short rows, which includes a new knitter like me, Wood was kind enough to draw us a picture and post it on Ravelry.com which is an online community and marketplace. The pink image is from Interweave which first published the pattern in Interweave Knits in 2012 and still sells the pattern. By reading the comments by other makers who had problems with rolling up, I decided to add some ribbing to the bottom edge.
I dyed the yarn for the yoke and found the harmonizing color in Shepherd’s Wool Yarn a Merino wool spun up in Michigan at the Michigan Fiber Festival.
For Ravelry.com, you do a simple registration and get access to the many useful comments posted by others. These comments will help you pick patterns and plan for making as well.
