Ce n'est que lorsqu'elle voit ses ailes noires qu'elle réalise que quelque chose ne va pas du tout. Brielle comprend alors qu'elle est destinée à intégrer la Tainted Academy.

Mais quand un ange déchu se bat pour qu'elle intègre la Fallen Academy, l'école prestigieuse réservée à ceux qui habitent à Angel City, son destin prend un tournant inattendu. Plus inattendu encore lorsqu'elle est associée au très sexy Lincoln Grey. Finalement, la vie à l'Academy pourrait se révéler plus agréable que prévu. Sauf qu'il suffit d'une confrontation entre eux pour que cette théorie s'effondre...

I just picked up Fallen Academy, and I swear this is the most YA novel of YA novels to ever YA novel. The main character is a human who was accidentally blessed with angel powers, but she’s apparently the first human to have the blessing of every archangel, and somehow she has black wings when every other angel-person has white wings. Her mother accidentally sold her to a demon, so she lives in a slum and has to fight off demon muggers with a switchblade, but you know she’s a good guy because she makes peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for a homeless person. Also, even though everyone who’s owned by demons normally goes to the demon school, she has to go to the angel school because only angels know how to teach her enough about angel powers to make sure she doesn’t lose control and hurt everyone around her, which means there’s this whole conflict going where both the demons and angels want her to ultimately wind up on their side after she’s learned enough to slaughter the other side. (I still haven’t figured out how the angels plan to subvert the whole “owned by a demon” thing, but it seems like the demons must not be very smart if they think the angels are training her to slaughter other angels.) Also, her combat instructor is a slightly older, very handsome boy whose tragic backstory makes him act like a complete asshole, but we all know he’s going to be the love interest in the end.

Oh, and I haven’t mentioned her magic talking knife that’s more powerful and magical than all the other magic talking weapons. How does this level of YA even exist?
