Still playing Fallout 4 and there's an idea in my head that I just need to get out.
I love Valentine so much. I fully label him as a pillar to my character's sanity while traversing the Wasteland. He's calm and collected, offers some snippets of humor when needed but can be a firm hand and trusted advisor.
And then there's Hancock.
Who I see as the enabler. But not in the "do whatever you want because who cares?" type of way.
But in the 'you've been through a lot, let things go for a bit.'
Because I feel like he can see the sadness, the anger, the desperation in my character and he will do what he can to help - but knows they're not going to get very far if they crack under the pressure.
So, he's a little irresponsible. A little reckless. A little devil on my character's shoulder that whispers 'go on, do it. You deserve a little crash out.'
While poor Nick is on the other shoulder, sparks flying out of his wires - 'Please, do not crash out.'
I like the idea that they both adore the Sole Survivor dearly, but in different ways.
Nick accuses Hancock of putting them in danger. While Hancock is blaming Nick for the restless nights and exhausted mind - "you're not giving them an outlet"
They're friends tho.
Nick has to grab Hancock by the scruff of his jacket sometimes for sure, but Nick takes John's words just as seriously.
And Hancock never steps over the line with Nick. He'll toe it, on occasion. Wanting to see the spark of irritation in those yellow eyes - but it's all in good fun and never out of malice.
Imagining the trio existing together in the Wasteland is plaguing me! I love them a lot!
