I watched a video about aftg and I really enjoyed it. Especially how she talks about Nora’s writing and retconing as ‘Fuck it’ and I couldn’t agree more.

I’ll link the video at the end of the post. I just wanted to exspected my thoughts about it in relation to the fans.

Nora’s ‘Fuck it’ attitude i think also has shaped fan culture around the series. Like the fans have head cannoned the hell out of the original books. And from fan to fan it is slightly different but there are many head-cannons that are popular with a large portion of the fandom. Like Renee being lesbian, or Neil and Andrew do get married and move on from their trauma.

Which are all things that nora has said no to in the retcons. But like it isn’t in the books so it has less canonization to it.

But then we will turn around and love some of the retcons, Robin and the cats are ones that come to mind right off the bat.

And then there are the genius fix’s I have read. Like I think because the series is so unique and unusual in the writing style it the characters lend themselves well to AUs and to putting them in really cool stories.

I mean I think some of the most heart wrenching and beautiful five I have ever read have come out of the aftg fandom (passive_phantom moonix and St Josten I am looking at you)

I think the fans of aftg more than any other fandom that I have been apart of play as fast and loose with the canon as the aftg fandom does. Like even info we get in the books, not often, but sometimes gets manipulated or changed. This is kind of in a fix-it-fic way but not really because we sometimes don’t fix plot issues with the canon.

MCU Edit Concept (Looking for Suggestions)

I've been thinking a lot about how disorganized the MCU has been as of late and it's got me thinking about ways that it could be improved with the benefit of hindsight and not being restricted by mandates and executives.

On a sidenote, not long ago I started watching a fanedit series titled Avengers: Dawn of Thanos and it's currently unfinished sequel, Avengers: Legion. In general, both of these were essentially new stories using the footage of the MCU but with new color grading, music, and even different contexts in general. It isn't perfect by any means at all, in fact it can be pretty messy, but if nothing else I think it's a great proof of concept for how editing can really drastically improve marvel movies.

I've started writing up a document that's goal is to compile ideas from each movie/series/series arc, with the goal of trying on improve the MCU and by extension some non-mcu movies with the multiverse and all, as well as present them in unique contexts. Anyone willing to contribute some ideas on edits that could be made is greatly appreciated. Remember, these edits can be as major or as small as you want, so long as you think they are theoretically possible with editing. Whole characters, scenes, and conflicts can come in different orders potentially.

My idea was that this new edit would start as a slimmed version of Marvel but as time goes on aspects would be drastically changed or altered to improve the story, or maybe just present something unique.

Miraculous: Take Two

In response to the mess the writing in season three has been, I’ve decided to rewrite the ENTIRE show, taking into account things like Episode Order, Character Growth, Duel Leads that SHARE the lead position, and other various complaints I’ve seen from the fandom.

I’m taking every episode written and reincorporating them into a coherent, dramatic story that functions as a better different version of Canon

So feel free to DM me, or comment below, any ML salt or ideas of the current array of episodes and I’ll see what I can do 😸

Do you ever think about the way Kurapika left his clan to find a doctor for Pairo and Leorio wants to become a doctor. So all along Kurapika was looking for Leorio and Leorio aimed to meet the criteria. Leopika was fated from the start and no one can argue with that. Have a nice day :))

hOLY FuuCK! I NEVER NOTICED THAT! why hasn’t that clicked before?

It would be worse if, while kurapika was on his search for a doctor, he met leorio but he’s also young. ( let’s say kura was 12 and leo was 14. Sounds about right)

Tween Kurapika rides into leorio’s neighbourhood, which was either a poor city or the south side opposite to the rich up north, on that big creature and pulls him aside.

Young leorio (without glasses), not knowing what the fucks going on, is confused yet mesmerized at this foreigner. When kurapika jumps off leorio sees just how tiny this boy is compared to this big chicken thing.

Kurapika asks leorio in a tiresome tone if there was a doctor anywhere, he was standing as tall and hopeful as he could but leorio saw how he tried to keep from falling after who knows how many hours of riding. Leorio tell him that there is no doctor in his parts, and mentions that he wanted to be one.

Disappointed, kurapika thanks him for his time and began to climb back on his chicken-horse in search for the next town; but he loses his grip and falls off!

Leorio wastes no time in helping pika back to his feet. Kurapika told leorio that he was fine and needed to keep searching for pairo’s sake, but Leorio insisted the he say the night to rest. He didn’t know when the last time this kid got some rest or had a meal? leorio wasn’t about to let him go back out to potentially collapse!

Leorio brought that chicken thing around to the back of the house as he gestured kurapika to go through the front door. When pika entered, he saw a room that compromised of a small kitchen like area, a table, and two doors that were probably a bathroom and a small bedroom. Before he had a chance to process leorio came back.

He told kurapika to make himself at home and brought him to the table. Leorio has pika sit down as he tended to the scratches pika got when he fell off the giant chickenpoo. Kurapika felt horrible! He saw how little this teen had, but was helping out this stranger without a second thought. Kurapika knew he had to return the favor somehow.

When leorio was done, he told kurapika that he should take a bath while he made dinner for them. That was when it hit him!

Kurapika said he’d needed to get something from that chickbeast. When he returned, kura gave leorio these vegetables and berries he picked along his search for a doctor. Leorio hasn’t seen some of theses before but it was food so he thanked kurapika, turning them into a soup dish.

That night they both eat and talked about some stuff. Kurapika asked leorio where his parents where, he said that they both were out working somewhere, usually odd jobs since those were the only work around here. When is was bed time leorio brought kura to that room behind a door. It was a small room, bare as can be with a mattress on the floor, some toys but most surrounded with books. Leorio told kurapika that he could sleep in his bed while he told the floor, not like there was much a difference. Leorio left the lamp on for kurapika, but that didn’t stop him from drifting fast to sleep. He work a small day job before he ran into kurapika so he was tired. Kurapika on the other hand had trouble sleeping, he still didn’t know where he was gonna find a doctor for pairo, it seemed like a hopeless search for him, but he didn’t want to give up.

Kurapika reaches out and grabbed a book from the floor. It was one of leorio’s text books from school, it looked externally worn and the pages were yellow from age, but it was a history book! Kurapika knew nothing outside of his clan’s history so he was eager to learn all that was in the book! He stayed up most of the night reading until he passed out.

That morning leorio found a book on pika’s face. He must have really liked that book. When kurapika woke he prepared to head back out in search of a doctor. As a parting gift to kurapika for those veggies, leorio told him he could keep the book.

They both wouldn’t realize it was them until years later when kurapika tells leorio about his clan’s transitions like that giant chicken, and leorio remembers that he once helps a sick kid who rode a giant chicken in his neighbourhood. Leorio didn’t have his glasses on cause he only uses them for school, he doesn’t wear them outside of it Incase they would break. Kurapika forgot all about that meeting because he soon learned what happened to his clan.

…I did not mean to make this a mini fanfic I haven’t written like that in two years.
