Thanks for your book advice I loved it and it was very helpful. I was wondering do you know any books like Bridgerton (period piece) with enemies to lover or class differences such as a lady and a peasant?
Hello, friend! Sorry it’s taken me a while to answer this, I had to do some research.
So, enemies-to-lovers is a really popular trope in contemporary romance, but I had a bit of trouble finding historical romances I felt confident recommending:
The Rogue of Fifth Avenue by Joanna Shupe (this is Gilded Age New York, which puts it later and on a different continent than Bridgerton, and it’s more of mutual nuisances to lovers, but it’s part of a series I’ve really enjoyed)
Daring and the Duke by Sarah MacLean (this one is straight-up enemies to lovers, but I haven’t read it. I’m not sure it will make sense without the other two books in the Bareknuckle Bastards trilogy, but those are worth a read)
As for class differences:
Any Duchess Will Do by Tessa Dare
The Governess Game by Tessa Dare
A Lady’s Lesson in Scandal by Meredith Duran
Dare to Love a Duke by Eva Leigh (note--I have not read this one and cannot vouch for how respectfully the heroine’s profession as a sex worker is portrayed. I’ve enjoyed some of this author’s other books so I do feel comfortable including it, but just a heads up)
I hope this helps! If other people have recs please do feel free to add on to this post or hit up the replies.
