While Faniel was a discarded concept, I do like to think what her name could mean.

-iel is a feminine suffix in both Quenya and Thindarin, and it typically means "daughter of", but not always.

The first part of the name, no one knows what it means, not even Jirt. The most compelling and likely definition I found is "fana", which means: raiment, veil; (bright) shape or figure; bodily form of an angelic spirit

I quite like that, tbh.

Faniel was a Ñoldorin Elf that was the third daughter of Finwë and Indis in an apparently discarded concept of the legendarium.[1] She had two brothers, Fingolfin and Finarfin, two sisters, Findis and Finvain and a half-brother, Fëanor.[2]
