DAY 12 / CAFETERIA / 15:00

Kata: [exhale] Hah... Finally. I really needed this.

Akioka: Yeah, looks like it. You've been stressed out of your mind lately with... everyone, really. And with Ishida-san and Katsura-chama...

Kata: No kidding. Every time I think I can trust him alone, he decides to set someone off... I don't know why he keeps provoking others, much less Katsura. Or why she stays in the same room as him if all she'll do is pick a fight.

Akioka: Sorry about that, by the way. Katsura-chama's.... a little roughed up around the edges. She means well, just- she doesn't like him being an asshole about us confronting our trauma and all that stuff. We're already stuck in a weird & sentient lab, y'know?

Kata: I'd certainly hope she does. I wouldn't want anyone to feel the same way I do whenever I'm trying to talk Ishida out of something. At least when I'm with you, things feel a little calmer.

Akioka: I get it, man. You're fine. You could leave him to me for once, if you want. We could switch or something.

Kata: I'd... rather not. I'd rather take Ishida being annoying than try and wrangle Katsura when she gets set off.

Akioka: Fair enough. To each their own, I guess.

Kata: You... haven't even put the cigarette to your mouth. If you let it smolder like that, it'll just... burn up.

Akioka: Huh? Oh, right.

[> Akioka puts it to his mouth, and takes a drag.]

Akioka: Man, that hits. I don't use this often, but it really works.

Kata: You... don't? I asked you to because you said you did.

Akioka: I do, just not really. Like, every now and again. Takes the edge off. Especially when my body feels like it's on fire.

Kata: I... really think you just need to take normal painkillers.

Akioka: No, course not. I'll take them when I need it.

Kata: ...Tamekiyo. You told me you had "something called a pain disorder" just a few days ago. I really think you need them.

Akioka: Atsuto, really, I'm fine. Don't stress over me. This is your break time, remember?

Kata: I- Sure, whatever you say. Just- don't push yourself too hard.

[> Kata takes another puff of his cigarette.]

Akioka: I won't, promise. You can trust me.

Kata: Why do you even smoke if you don't use it for your pain, anyway? Did a friend get you into it or something?

Akioka: No, not that. I just... I like the smoke, I guess? It's complicated.

Kata: The... smoke? Like, the smell?

Akioka: ...Something like that. I like the smell of smoke without whatever's in this, though.

Kata: Really? I didn't think anyone could like it.

Akioka: Well, yeah, but- How do I put this? Like- I'm fond of it. Not like I enjoy it, but it reminds me of stuff. It's the same reason I put cigarettes out myself.

Kata: Like... you just press them against your fingers, or hands? Can't you just- press it to the wall, or step on it, or something else?

Akioka: I mean, I could, but... it just feels better when I'm doing it myself.

Kata: Because... you're crushing it yourself? Because you're the one deciding to put it out?

Akioka: Not... really? It's like- for the burn. When you feel it sting your skin, it just... makes it feel personal. Like, intimate, or something.

Kata: ...The burn? You mean- is it because of your pain flares? Is it just- do you just need to think you can choose when you feel it?

Akioka: I'm... probably not making any sense. It's whatever.

Kata: Sorry.

Akioka: Nah, man, don't be. We're both like, on nicotine, or whatever the hell is in these. I don't think either of us can make sense of much.

[> Akioka puts his cigarette to his lips again, though it feels more like he's just making sure it isn't wasted.]

Kata: Right. Right, that adds up.

[> Kata does the same, though with the actual intent of using it up. Maybe smoking another one or two.]

Kata: What... does it even remind you of, though? Like- I get maybe cigarette smoke, when hanging out with friends, or with a relative, or something... But just smoke? What would make that a fond memory?

Akioka: ...Something that meant a lot to me. Y'know, something important.

Kata: I'm... happy you have something like that?

Akioka: Mhm. Don't think about it too hard.

Kata: Right. Thanks for being here, by the way. I appreciate it. Being alone with you like this is nice.

Akioka: ...Yeah, it is.

side note) ISONITRO: INVESTIGATION is NOT a killing game setting! all of the students here are in a weird, sentient lab with MONO.AI as their session host where NOBODY dies and NOTHING BAD happens to them in present!! they still have some messy backstories but since they're also older here (20-22, Shiga being the youngest and Akioka being the oldest) they've matured or grown enough to leave it behind them. this is NOT a rewrite, this is my rendition of them as my OCs and in a setting where they can now be happy (even if they still suffer a little).

with that out of the way, here's the second indigo episode script!! if anyone wants to voice over these lines be my guest, just make sure to credit me ehe. i'm not making all the episodes, like introductory episodes and what not, just the ones i wanna make and can actually enjoy writing. which is why some of these will seem out of nowhere. because i am a messy person and that is how i work. i hope you can still enjoy this though ^^

I'm starting to dabble in voice acting, so I decided to do my best rendition of the famous Under the Red Hood ending monologue. PLEASE READ NOTES BELOW BEFORE COMMENTING SOMETHING RUDE.

YES I AM AWARE IT LOSES IT A BIT AT THE END that's because my brain started to fry from being dehydrated.

To be fair, this also took less than 10 takes for something I haven't watched in over half a decade (7 years minimum)

I am reading a script because I have had multiple concussions this yr and struggle to memorize things that aren't numbers or tax related

But I like how this turned out and tbh it was hella cathartic because I have similar trauma to Jason from parents who promised to protect me and heavily let me down so it was like free therapy lmfao.
