Debating on publishing a fic (cause it’s in my drafts rn) where Canon!Tim gets transported into the Fanonverse (HEH) and basically is in Fanon!Tim’s shoes and we just watch him lowkey crash out on them.

Here’s a silly snippet for it though!

Jason glanced up, squinted, and immediately hit him with, “Ugh. Replacement.”

Tim’s whole body froze mid-stride. His brain tripped over its own shoelaces. Replacement?? Replacement what? Replacement why? Replacement since when? He stared like Jason had just announced he was a priest now.

Ever read a fic that's fanon but SO OUT OF CHARACTER that you gotta pause and remind yourself that this shit ISN'T REAL. Don't get me wrong, some fanon fics are good and honestly a super fun read and very well-written while still staying somewhat true to the character. But I'm talking about those fics that there is nothing that stays true to the actual character except for their name. When I joined the batman fandom and read a fic on Tim Drake, the image I had of him vs what he's actually like in the comics is SO DIFFERENT.

thinking about how tim's early days as robins is an omen for the events in the red robin run (2009-2011)

like he's trying to drag bruce out of his depression in the face of jason's death and lead him back to the ideals he knows that bruce cared about. bruce in his right mind wouldnt be as brutal as he was in that time, and tim knew bruce didn't want to be that way. bruce is being violent, isolating himself, and isn't thinking things through, which is exactly what happens in tim's first expedition as red robin.

he's distraught over the deaths of his parents, his friends, and is dealing with his gf back stabbing him, dick not believing him, damian vying for his downfall, and losing the familiarity that came with the robin mantle. on his quest, he's not thinking things through

if i see one more fanon drawing or whatever where tim/masky is skinny and looks like a fucking twink i will go feral (and not in a "omg hes so hot im going feral" way but in a 'i will get on all fours and foam at the mouth, baring my teeth, growling, snarling, biting, barking, ripping you to shreds and brutally fucking mauling you like a rabid dog' way)
