The Story
The Well of The Divine has been compromised. Once the source of the Gods strength, it is now closed off to them leaving them truly vulnerable for the first time in their long existence. They are scared.
What does this have to do with you?
Found as a new-born, abandoned by those that brought you into this world, you never knew your birth parents. Only those who took you in. The problems of the Gods had never involved you until now. Divine blood flows in your veins. An encounter with your Godly parent brings death to your village. Those who hunt the Gods have come for you too.

Theresa Colt - She/Her - 25 - The Childhood Friend
Only child to the village's herbalist, Theresa grew up alongside MC. When not working with her mother, Theresa was most likely to be found by MCs side getting up to all sorts of adventures. Some might mistake her softness of weakness but it takes a certain kind of courage to be kind in the face of hardship.
Appearance:
Theresa is a young woman fairly short in height, 5'3, with curly brown hair typically tied up in brightly coloured scarfs. Honey eyes framed with thick lashes on a round face with olive skin. Delicate hands that are surprisingly rough from years of work.

Maddox Rowe - He/Him - 27 - The Demigod
Maddox Rowe has always been angry. From a young age he’s been told it’s in his blood, in his nature. He may be a bit of a hothead but anger isn’t all that’s left in him, but when you aren’t given the chance to be anything else you fall back on what you know.
Appearance:
Golden skin and angry red eyes, Maddow Rowe stands tall at 6'3 casting an intimidating figure to most. Broad shoulders and a powerful form gained from a life of combat only add to it. Dark shaggy hair and a strong jaw complete his look.

Cormac Winters - He/Him - 28 - The Charming Rogue
Talking himself in and out of trouble, Cormac flits about from city to city never setting roots. If you set roots you get attached. To some, honeyed words fall from his lips. To others, he’s selling nothing but snake oil. And when trouble finally does catch up to him, like many before he’ll slip away in the night.
Appearance:
Long wild, wavy red hair is the first thing people notice when they see Cormac. The second is the sly grin that seems to have found a permanent place on his face. Lean in build, 5’10, and forest green eyes, some think him cocky but who can resist a pretty face?

Lucien Corvus - They/Them - 24 - The Hunter
Alone from a young age, with no one to protect or care form them, Lucien learned that the only person you can rely on is yourself. Strangers will use and hurt you. Keeping this mantra close to their heart helped them survive. Besides, if you begged to the gods for aid none would answer.
Appearance:
Piercing ice blue eyes on a cool white angular face that rarely shows anything different to cold indifference. Short blonde hair that rests against their forehead. They stand with shoulders back to a height of 6’. Is that a dimple when they smile?

Sabine - She/Her - ??? - The ???
Wise beyond her years in the matters of the divine and history of the world. There’s an energy about her the exudes a sense of calm. If you look closer, behind the golden eyes you may catch a glimpse of the power that runs beneath them.
Appearance:
Eyes of liquid gold, skin a rich deep black, and ebony coils styled into long twists. Holding herself with a sense of regal poise, Sabine stands to a height of 5'9. She keeps a calm countenance even in unfavorable situations.

This is my first time writing anything in ChoiceScript (first time coding in general) so please bare with me as I learn and thank you for your patience 💛

Before you were even born, there have been tales and ballads of a Great Slayer who will bring salvation to the world. Strange it is, how the verses echo your very visage, but what salvation could you possibly bring? You’re only a temple child, dreaming of knighthood and glory after all.

“The Enchanted Burden” is an interactive fiction novel that begins with the discovery of an infant in the heart of an ancient forest. This child’s arrival in the life of Granny Willow, the village healer, transforms both their destinies — and sets in motion a story neither of them could have anticipated.
As the child grows, they are drawn into a world of magic and mystery far larger than the quiet village that raised them. Five realms exist beyond the forest. Each one has a core — a living heart of power that holds the realm together. Someone has been breaking them. And the child Willow found in the ferns turns out to be the only one who can heal what has been broken.

An ancient fae who has existed for a thousand years and spent most of them watching over you from behind the Mirror. Deliberate, certain, quietly overwhelming — they do not ask permission, they do not explain themselves, and they have never once looked at you like you were too much to hold. What does it mean to be loved by something older than language? You are still working that out.
Marcellus / Minerva —
The heir of the Hollowed — sent to find you, map you, and facilitate your destruction. Cold-bright eyes and an aggression that turns out to be a door rather than a wall. They came to break what you are. They didn’t. They are still working out what that means, and so are you. The darkness in them is real. So is everything else.
Four routes. One locked heart. An entity that was certain it had already won.

As far as you were concerned, you were a normal college student. That was until you died in a car accident.
However, that was not the end of your life as you find yourself in the body of the young lady/lord, who also happens to be the youngest child of the Duke of North.
That wouldn't have been a problem, if the youngest child wasn't the villain of the story.

Alaric Solaria;
The beloved Crown Prince. A down to earth kind of person, who loves a good joke. Loyal to his people, even more so to his family and fiance.
So, how did such a down to earth person got to be a Crown Prince and why are people so annoyed with him?
Appearance:
Our dear prince is quite an active young man. Such is the beauty of the Royal family, blessed by the Sun God and children of the Golden Emperor, he is mostly recognized by his golden eyes. Of course, while he can stand to tidy up, our Crown Prince does like to appear unruly, wht with his wild hair, that is of course brown, having taken after his mother, the beautiful Empress. Yet, it isn't just her hair that he inherited her beautiful brown skin.
He did get his height from his father, as he stands above many. As is expected, he can be found wearing many luxurious clothing with Royal families royal purple.
Cornelia Douglas;
The dear Saintess. A true beauty chosen by the Sun God. A hardworking young woman, beloved by masses. She is kind and true, she can be cold, but do not be dissuaded by her cold demeanor.
Appearance:
Our dear Saintess is perfection reincarnated. Such beauty was sent to us by the Sun God, there is no question. Our dear Saintess can be recognized by her hair that is like rose quartzs, and those eyes of hers. Have you seen them, an emerald green that compliments her pale skin tone. What a clean skin, truly one that compliments our Saintess.
Simone;
Ah, yes. The Daughter of the Moon Goddess. A strange lady, surrounded by more strange ladies. She is someone.
Appearance:
As is expected of the Daughter of the Moon, you will never see her without her veil and cloaks. Perhaps, she is ugly, perhaps she is not. She is covered in white, as is the rule of the Moon's followers.
Karl Blackwell;
Him. He is a quiet young man. The Crown Princes second-in-command. That is, it seems, all he is usefull. Don't bother with him, after all, nobles should stick together.
Appearance:
As a commoner, he is unimpressive. He has those dirty brown eyes, one that are similar to the color of a mud. His hair is too, but it seems that our beloved Crown Prince taught him how to brush it.

Sieghardt is your second brother and Captain of the Nibelhiem Heath Knights. Unlike Alberich, Sieghardt is a like ghost, often occupying the shadows in your memory. He’s a quiet and stoic person, but is loyal to your brother Alberich above all else. There is a weight he carries with him that no one knows.
Eirik Nibel Neaera | He/Him | 23 | Male
Eirik is your only cousin, the son of your Father's twin brother. He still holds your family responsible for the death of his father and will do anything to avenge him. He's arrogant and hot-headed, but he's also resourceful. Despite being a jerk, he inspires great loyalty in the people who follow him.
Sir Griffin (Finn) Brynhildr | He/him | 19 | Male
A young boy from your childhood. He was a good friend- maybe even your first love, but you two have drifted apart over the years. Now he's a Nibelhiem Heath Knight and heir to a Great House. His passion is second to none and charges into every situation with enthusiastic sincerity- sometimes to his own disadvantage. He hates Sieghardt with every fibre of his being.
Lady Linnet Brynhildr | She/Her | 24 | Female
Linnet is Finn's older sister and childhood friend of your older brothers. She's a part of the renowned Shield Maidens and harbors a flame for Sieghardt, but due to her family's ambitions, nothing becomes of it. Above all else, she wishes to serve her country and fulfill her duties- but must it come at the cost of her own happiness?
A young Prince from the neighboring country of Brigid. Thea is one of seven children in line for the throne. She was a good friend and pen pal- maybe even your first love, but she stopped answering your letters one day. Her short stature and demure demeanor causes most people to underestimate her crafty nature.

The Wizard Rothbart's assistant. She's a woman of many questions and little answers. A flirtatious and beautiful woman, who is easy to like, but hard to trust. There’s something about her sincerity that makes you uneasy. Her smiles never truly meet her eyes.

Helios is a great sorcerer of unknown origins with great knowledge of the occult and the Wastes. Aside from that, no one knows who the fuck this person is.
