CW: Soft Drinks
You know I think a good origin for soft drinks in a fantasy setting could be as something that used to be added to health potions and tonics created to make them taste better.
Then eventually, someone decided to just sell the flavoured potion additives on their lonesome instead of as part of a harder to manufacture concoction with healing/buffing effects.
I think a neat spell/item/ability would be something that'd allow a person to dissipate into a bright cloud of mist before reforming at whatever the last location they felt totally safe in was.
And if no such location exists or if that location is no longer safe for whatever reason, they can just reform in the middle of nowhere away from other people, perhaps near an old lonely standing stone, the middle of a massive field, or an abandoned stone tower that has not yet fallen to the elements.
CW: Weapons, Ghosts
I think an interesting weapon could be a sword that can only deal damage to intangible magic things (such as ghosts or a person's soul, or curses attached to objects, or enchantments) while passing through all physical objects leaving them totally unaffected.
CW: bugs
You know fireflies?
Well what there were brighter versions of them named things like "Infernoflies" or "blazeflies"
Oh also what if some of these brighter fireflies were placed in a small jar which also contains some sort of sleeping vapour, so that the slumbering flies can be poured out before eventually waking up and providing light to whatever area they've been placed in
I think your characters should always have climbing equipment with them so they can scale up and down areas that may lack easy means of traversal, whether these places be in nature or old ruins.
Could also be useful if they ever have to do a heist and need to do that cool heist movie lowering in from the ceiling trope.
And any ropes used for climbing could also be used to hold any bundles of firewood together or to trip over potential enemies
There are probably plenty of other alternate uses for climbing equipment, why not think up some yourself
I think it'd be interesting if there existed some non-magnifying monoculars, with lenses that have been engraved and enchanted allowing for enhanced sight.
They could do the sorts of things you'd expect vision-enhancing eyepieces to do such as providing night or thermal vision.
But they could also be used to view otherwise invisible formless entities or to highlight where almost indetectable magic has been cast.
Or maybe they could do slightly weird but still helpful things like overlaying topographical information on a landscape or showing the exact wind speed and current weather of an area.
CW: Fighting
I think it would be interesting if there was a special solution that guards and knights in fancy cities and castle polish their metal armour with to give it a shining mirror-like sheen.
This solution would most likely not be used by people on a battlefield though, as it would most likely make them a bright target for all their enemies to see.
Unless the person was very confident and skilled, in which case the shining armor could probably work as an intimidation tactic.
I mean would you wanna see horrified reflections of you and your allies' faces in the armour of someone coming to cut you down.
