Vegan Lebanese Fasolia (Red Kidney Beans Stew)

Did you know big Yemeni breakfast is a thing?  Well, I do now thanks to Dellah Coffee & Brunch House in Dearborn, MI.  My companion and I split spicy fasolia with malawah bread, ashta and pistachio pancakes, and fatteh with dates.  I had to get myself a chocolate and peanut butter waffle, because of course.  Please excuse, the already-in-progress second photo, the fatteh took a while to come out, and I just couldn’t wait.

Result: Failure. My companion didn't actually eat any of the fatteh, but that is no excuse. I'll just have to try again.

Fasolia Saucy String Beans

My son made Fasolia on Sunday (more then a lot) so he thought of giving his parents some. So on a cold snowy night we had it on rice with a side of green beans. I know it is not traditional, but I had Upslope Brewing's Mexican Lager with. It went perfectly with a traditional comfort food. A little malty, slightly sweet, and a clean finish.
