New #review #FelixEverAfter by #KacenCallender So if you’ve been following me for a bit, you’ve probably noticed a trend in the authors I’m reading this year, or you might have seen the posts where I pointed out that I was committing myself to a challenge this year – one in which I only read books written by #BIPOC authors. I’ve managed that for the most part, with the exception of a few ARC reviews for authors to whom I’ve been committed for over a year or sometimes what seems like a lifetime. 🖤 But I realized with the arrival of #Pride month that I need to actually put what I preach about intersectionality into practice. So I’ve been looking not only for BIPOC voices to read, but BIPOC voices who also fall outside of the ‘cishet’ realm. I had originally bought Felix Ever After for my Eldest Spawn after she’d asked for it. At the time, she didn’t really like to read, so I figured almost any book was good enough to get her. I’d intended to read it but just hadn't gotten to it yet (I think mostly because it's a paperback and I prefer ebooks these days). This book has totally erased the books I’ve read recently – like wiped them out of my mind & filled it with itself. Felix Ever After is such a rollercoaster of a book!! I laughed, I loved, I raged, I wept both tears of pain & joy. This book is such a glorious celebration of the journey each one of us must take towards accepting ourselves and loving who we are, understanding that our own validation is the only validation we really need. Felix Ever After should be required reading for everyone in school. It gives so much insight into the things that trans kids, and especially queer trans kids of color, are confronted with on a daily basis, on TOP of all the things that teens are already dealing with – so many people can connect with these feelings, even if they don’t identify with any of the identities being discussed. Felix ever after review This book is about a transgender boy names Felix who has never been in love (despite his last name being Love). He loves his transgender, back, queer identity but also struggles with them. Once he started getting anonymously bullied and deadnamed alongside photos of him pre-transition. He comes up with a plan for revenge which turns into a strange love triangle and many self realisations. ✨ I couldn’t emotionally connected to this book until about half way through which I was so frustrated about! Cause it’s the exact type of genre and writing I normally love. But once I got into it half way through oh my god was I crushed, happy, confused just so many emotions. By the end I was just crying happy tears and couldn’t stop smiling! The plot of this book was amazing I couldn’t put the book down (except the times when I got second hand embarrassment ahh) The characters are all amazing. We love an all queer characters book. Leah was fucking amazing oh my god her at the end. Leah and Ezra just constantly sticking up for Felix was my favourite thing to see it just made me so happy. Ezra also took my heart he was just such an amazing best friend throughout the book! Felix had so much character development throughout the book. He got cut down and still was about to rebuild himself every time 🤍 The ending now. I do love how it ended. I did like both potential relationships ngl wouldn’t of been made with either of them. I do however think there were a few unanswered questions. There are still things I wanna know! I think this book is just going to be a standalone but I wouldn’t be mad it a prequel came outOverall I gave it 4.5 stars! I would give it 5 but I just wasn’t emotionally invested in it until about 200 pages in! However I highly recommend this to everyone so if tit’s just such an incredible book ⭐️ Age Range: 15+ Genre: Contemporary  Star rating: 4.5 stars ⭐️

"Felix Ever After" to historia o miłości, poszukiwaniu, dorastaniu, tematach tabu i przełamywaniu siebie, swoich ograniczeń. Ta historia otwiera oczy na problemy innych, pokazuje, że wszyscy jesteśmy równi i zachwyca swoim przesłaniem. Myślę, że to książka dla wszystkich, po prostu. Jest taka prawdziwa, porusza tak wiele tego, co ważne 📖 Czytając ją miałam poczucie, że nie mogę jej odłożyć, nie mogę zawieść Felixa i muszę poznać jego historię. 👉 Ode mnie ocena 10/10 🌟, w tej historii także... odnalazłam siebie. This book is so well written and beautifully explores identity, race, bullying, friendship and family dynamics, and the struggles of being a teen. I swear that the bookmark choice was completely random, but I feel like there’s no better bookmark for a book about the journey of finding yourself, your voice, and your identity. 🌸 The people that recommended this book to me, where absolutely right. It was emotional and powerful. I didn’t cry, but I most definitely teared up several times. 🌸 Felix Ever After reminds the reader that even when the world tries to destroy you, and keep you down, that there are those who will always support you. It reminds the reader that it may take a while to find your voice, your identity, or that you might even question it for the rest of your life, and that’s okay. You’re here. You exist.
