honestly, if Klance had originally been fem, there would be a ton shit of 'past lovers/exes' fics out there. i think it would've even been one of the most popular tropes for them.

they just give such an 'it's complicated' and 'probably were in a past relationship but don't tell anyone about it' vibes, y'know? maybe they hadn't even been exactly together in the first place, but there had definitely been something between the two — something very angsty and 'curling-into-a-ball-as-i-claw-at-my-hair' worth, for that matter.
