I already know I’ll primarily be watching Season 4 of Bridgerton hoping for more Franchaela crumbs, which fresh off the back of Heated Rivalry will be… sad.
Obviously I’m immensely looking forward to the first WLW season when it happens, and it’s a credit to Jessica Brownell that she’s managed to pivot into a sapphic love story when there’s such a strong het-only slant in the original books. Not to mention that I do genuinely adore Francesca’s mutually understanding autism-coded quiet love story with John, and it makes sense to have that play out chronologically before her love story with Michaela.
But even so… I kinda feel like I’m back in 2011, doing detective work for queer love stories in media. And it reminds me of how A League of Their Own, the closest thing sapphics had to Heated Rivalry, was so excellent & then so cancelled. Gah.
Why do queer women still have to make four or five seasons of het love before we’re trusted to do one season of sapphic romance? The decision to gender-swap Michaela was inspired, but why does it have to happen at all? Why will the Sapphic Eloise truthers never get what they’re hoping for? Why do our romances get one season before being cancelled?
This is all rhetorical. We know why. But when will it change?

I finally caved to the steady drumbeat in my head and bashed out an explicit/NSFW Roselana fic despite being SO close to finishing my WIP. Jacob Tierney made me do it. I will not be accepting questions at this time.

So this snippet came to me and I'm ready to write some smut but I don't have a fandom in mind. Should I do hollanov, kinnporsche, kimchay, vegasporsche, kinnvegas, malec, a lil femmeslash or something else?
