Mike Brown assaulted a small Asian store clerk over cigarillos that he stole.

Officer Darren Wilson was cleared by the Justice Department in the use of force against Mike Brown. The Justice Department is headed by a liberal Attorney General who was appointed by a liberal President.

The DOJ concluded that Mike Brown’s civil rights were not violated in the events leading up to his death. tchalisew

You put up a memorial for Mike Brown like he was Gandhi.

The day Mike Brown died, he wasn’t on some non-violent march for social justice. He stole from a store and assaulted a clerk from said store. Then he resisted a police officer, even going so far as to try and seize that police officer’s weapon.

These are the facts. He was not shot surrendering. He was shot while moving towards the police officer.

Mike Brown

I’m all for keeping the cops accountable and punishing them when they do wrong. When cops do wrong, they should at least lose their job, if not their freedom.

Mike Brown was a thug, though.

Darren Wilson had no real record of malfeasance in all of his years a police officer. He cannot be judged on the record of abuses that were perpetrated by the city and police force of Ferguson writ large. He shouldn’t be punished because we, the mob, want him punished. He should be punished based on the facts of the incident.

To the extent that there is criticism of the post in the comments, it is exclusively focused on the racial bias section. I find this to be an interesting phenomenon. Thus, among people who bothered to read the post, they can believe that the Ferguson PD was an inexcusable revenue generation machine, that it habitually used excessive force, that it punished people regularly for contempt of cop, that it systematically violated its citizens civil liberties. All of this is believable. But not, apparently, that justice was also administered in a racially biased (which is different from racist) way. "That's an awful lot of dedication to the proposition that people you don't know couldn't possibly be racially biased.
