Been watching boyfriend play the new Final Fantasy VII remake and Aerith is absolutely adorable in it! I never drew her before so I tried!

Why Oscar was Likely Partially Based on Aerith

Despite Tifa and Yang being very different, there are some simmilarities:

in how they are both the monk of the group who went to go search for their Mom and almost died as a kid 

-willing to help those who have trouble opening up to others(Ruby/Cloud)

-taking initiative despite getting involved with unsavory figures to get info(Volume 2/Corneo)

This alone wouldn’t mean much but RWBY a whole has a lot of FF7 references from Buster Swords in dojos, materia(dust), orange haired guys with guns and white clothes, cities based on Norse mythology

So it wouldn’t be surprising how Oscar might be based on Aerith since both; 

-grew plants until they ended up traveling to fulfill their destiny having magical powers beyond regular people such as connecting to the past

-And because of it, I think it really emphasizes how Oscar communication really stands out, being similarly straightforward

Okay, so I know that everyone says that Zack Fair's first name is actually Zackary, but if we were to go with the whole faux-biblical, faux jewish symbolism that this game has going on what with "Sephiroth" and "Genesis", wouldn't it stand to reason that his full name would actually be Zachariah?
