Edmonton Marathon 2018 Training (Sub-3:30): Week 9
I HATE HEADWINDS
So, as you may be able to tell, this week’s training journal has a theme. I swear on my grave, every time I went for a run this week I had to deal with headwinds. Running uphill? HEADWIND. Running downhill? HEADWIND. Running on a flat surface? HEADWIND. Just started a 1 mi fast interval? It may have been calm as heck during my warm-up but now it’s HEADWIND TIME.
AS YOU CAN TELL I AM FED UP BUT ANYWAYS ONWARDS AND UPWARDS.
Sunday
A great day to be outside. Worked on the rear of my property getting it back in order. Going to install a fire pit. Got an 18 wheeler rim from my cousin at their garage free. Going to make two drop links to feed the wood. Just need to find some stumps to make benches out of.
5 hours of shoveling, wheel-barrel and sewing grass. Now come on and rain like it has suppose to for the last two weeks.
From gym to fashionista today.
Got my lazy and tired butt out of bed, and then stupidly went to work in heels. My lower back hates me. But once I switched to my sneakers at the retirement home life is better.
👻bench press 40lbs—>35–>30 👻close grip barbell press SS skull crushers 20lbs 👻bench dips ( I hate these ) 👻incline DB chest press 25lbs 👻machine flies 65lbs 👻above head tricep extensions 15lbs (really struggled with these)
👻20 minutes steady cardio because why not?
I’m not sure if I’m feeling progress or just mentally telling myself I’m doing better because I think I should. I’m 9 days into this, and ate like crud today and can’t tell. Oh well
Day 5 of phase 2 of the Evolution of a Goddess Challenge down. Halfway there (and a day late, but yesterday was insane crazy.)
Honestly, not super thrilled with my fitness goals/progress lately. My weight is all over the place except for down this past month which is really frustrating. I’m exercising a ton but I am seeing NO PROGRESS. This is the first day of increasing my intake (as per my therapists directions) but I’m worried I’m going to gain eating this increased amount?
I also kind of worry that I’m building more muscle than I would like to be, so I’m wondering if I should cut back on some of the more strength training-esque things I’m doing?
Also I really should not be spending time on thinking about any of that because I have a horrible exam this week and have been studying or in class for twelve hours (minus the hour and a half I spent in the gym).
Send me love/encouragement/advice/something? Feeling crappy and studying forever☕
So I've been debating not posting this. But this is me right now, bloated and fluffy and not happy with myself on the slightest. This is what almost a month of inactivity does to you. I've been off college and work and I've been comfort eating and less than consistent on my workouts. But I'm trying not to let it get me down. I'm working hard now and from next week I'll be back at work and I'll have a more consistent schedule to stick to. I'm going away for the weekend so I'll let myself relax a little but I will get back to where I was and I will be happy with my body. I don't want to drop tons of weight, I'm not fussed for abs or anything. I just want to be happy.
Cheese sauce and hot dog meat sauce (both home made) ready to go. I have already eat today. I may have 1 hot dog!
Card time in the blue grass. Looking forward till spring to see the blue grass coming alive again.
