Spoilers for TGCF Black Water Arc...

I wish beefleaf fics would address the fact that SWD literally tried to kill SQX, and HX's reaction was to save SQX.

It's such an important part of that scene! SWD unilaterally decided SQX was better off dead, and refused to even consider that SQX could live a worthwhile life without his almighty gege taking care of him! And also... SWD's final words were basically "See you in hell." To his brother?!?! That is so fucked up?!?!?!?! How is that not something that haunts SQX in any of the fics I've read? And SQX never thinks about how HX saved him in that moment?? How come I've never seen HX feeling conflicted over how some of his actions in that scene were driven by a desire to protext SQX, or or even just insisting to himself that he was just trying to stick to the plan??? Just... Why does nobody dig into that well as part of beefleaf reconciliation???

(Granted there are also lots of other interpretations for SWD and HX's respective actions of course, but they're also interesting and should be explored in fics too!!)

Legit, I've read so many beefleaf fics, especially reconciliation ones. And this has literally never come up in any of them, and I really wish it would.

(Would love fic recs if anybody has seen this explored in one.)
