The entire Legend of Zelda series is important to me because they were not only the first video games I ever played and first video games I ever owned, but Link's Awakening is what got me into gaming in the first place!

Final Fantasy IX. The remaster doesn't count, I want a full FF7 Remake-esque remake, except without changing the story.

this is kind of embarrassing so under a cut it goes. but you're my closest friend in the world. you make me happy. aaaand i wrote a bunch of other stuff but it got weird so i deleted it. just know that you're one of my favorite humans and i love you.

watching you create gemini and grow her into her own unique, interesting character has been an absolute joy. i know she sort of grew out of a preexisting character, but in the end, they're not very much alike except for their all encompassing love for the world, and the fact that they take 48 years to ask out their crush. i love gemini and i want to dissect her and squish her like a bug (affectionate).

your writing has inspired me and encouraged me to develop my own writing. your love for your characters has inspired me to love my own ocs in a way i never have before. your love of xiv has dragged my slow, sorry ass through stb+. though i'll never forget i finished hw before you did. :p

anyway this is all very embarrassing for some reason i don't really know why. i hope i'm 50% as good of a friend to you as you are to me.

19. What is your general favourite thing about the character? What is your least favourite?

ooooh good question. hmmm, i really have to think about this one. i love everything about leo. he's my skrunkly wunkly, and i need to dissect him.

i think my favorite thing about him is that he's come far enough in his development that i no longer "decide" things about him, he "tells" me. when i made him up, i based him on a preexisting character and purposely changed certain aspects of him to differentiate him from the original character. for instance, the original guy liked to wear skirts/dresses, so leo did not like wearing skirts/dresses.

but then the other day i realized that leo is now a distinct character, no longer living in this other character's shadow, and there's no reason he wouldn't wear skirts/dresses because of how he perceives gender and his relationship with it. he usually doesn't, but he would.

my least favorite thing about him is everything else. world's most terrible man.

um, i think actually this is partly from basing him on another character like i have, but i have a lot of trouble getting him to speak in "fantasy-speak." which is interesting! because he certainly doesn't talk like the guy i based him off of. but he just talks like i do, which is a problem because i don't say shit like "is aught amiss?" i'm getting a little better with it, but it's hard to get him to talk like a final fantasy character.

Leo is a polyamorous trans gay man. He knew he was trans as a child but didn't "come out" until he was ~12. He found out he was gay much later. In my estimation, most Eastern Miqo'te are mostly bisexual due to the gender disparity (not sure about Hhetsaro, etc). So his first crush being on a boy wasn't a big deal. He only realized much later that he wasn't at all interested in women. Being that he was mostly raised by a Hyur and has dropped his "Tia" moniker, nobody really cares, although I think it's not even a big deal for Miqos that stay within their tribes either. Just a little weird, maybe!

Thancred is a demiromantic bisexual man with a preference for ladies. That's kind of the reason he's sort of a "love 'em and leave 'em" sort of person. Not saying every demiromantic person is like this, of course -- Thancred is his own character. He doesn't often feel the pull of romantic attraction, but he very much feels sexual attraction. And because of that, he generally isn't interested in pursuing a relationship with just anyone. It has to be someone he's already friends with. He likes dates, because it usually leads up to sex, and because they can be fun. But he doesn't really get into the real romantic stuff except on rare occasions.

3. If your OC could revisit their childhood, what would they want to change about it, if anything at all?

I think Celios's childhood was mostly pretty happy, but for a long time they kept their ears hidden all the time. They grew up as the only half-elf amongst all humans, and there wasn't necessarily like.... any prejudice against them for it, but I think they just felt embarrassed about their pointy ears, and wanted to feel more like their half-siblings and cousins.

There was a notable event that made them start tying/pushing back their hair to show their ears all the time, but I think if they could go back they would have started doing it earlier

14. Does your OC hold grudges? How good are they at letting things go? Do they believe in second chances?

Hmmm. I think for the most part, they are a bit of a pushover. They definitely typically let things go pretty easy and believe in second chances.

But one time they were attempting to peacefully resolve a situation where, to condense the story as much as possible, a university building got overrun with mutant spiders, and Celios and their team actually found a way to communicate with the spiders, and were on the verge of peacefully solving the situation. But then a rival company came and basically burned the building down + killed all the spiders. I think Celios still has a grudge against these people.

23. What is your OC like when they're angry?

Really huffy, difficulty speaking in full/coherent sentences, kind of a mix of anger and being flabbergasted. But they become a little more focused and competent if the anger is related to someone they love being in danger.

27. What are some assumptions others make about your OC? Are any of them true?

Uhh I think probably the big one is their gender lol. This is sort of a Doylist answer. But my fellow players in the original D&D game that Celios was from constantly he/him'd them. I think mainly because I am a man and have a masculine voice; it seems like people in that group typically play characters that are the same gender as themselves. They would also she/her my friend's male character for the same reason 😅

But this kind of led me to drawing Celios looking more and more feminine, and now a lot of people mistake them for a woman 💀 Alas

In-universe answer is probably just that a lot of people think Celios is dumber than they are. Due to whimsy.

44. Do others consider your OC to be scary or intimidating?

Absolutely not lmfao

Other than like, when the party is fighting a monster and Celios has to blast fire at the monster or something. The monster probably finds this scary 💀

But. Other people generally do not find Celios scary or intimidating at all.
