#Repost @johnwelbourn (@get_repost) ・・・ Last night, I was reading on CNN about obesity epidemic in the US. And I wanted to post a picture of when I got down to slightly obese on the BMI. I am 6’6” and weighed in 268 pounds which puts me around 30 BMI which is boarding on obese from overweight. I am not saying for the majority of kids & people the BMI isnt valuable but the BMI was created in the 1800s and might be a bit outdated. Maybe we could figure out a new system based on LBM, BF or maybe something like fitness standards. I would like to hear your thoughts. — “The United States will not be escaping the obesity epidemic crisis anytime soon: Nearly 40% of adults and 19% of youth are obese, the highest rate the country has ever seen in all adults, according to research released Friday by the National Center for Health Statistics.” — “For the study, data were collected from Americans ages 2 to 19 and 20 and older, through mobile physical examination centers across the country, and then measured using body-mass index (BMI), Hales said. Body mass index is the ratio between a person's weight and height; a BMI of 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight, while anything over 30 is obese.” — http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/13/health/adult-obesity-increase-study/index.html #BMI #healthcrisis #bodyfat #fitness #CNN #powerathlete #getit #jackedstreet #fieldstrong
