Y’a pas qu’la pêche à la mouche, dans la vie. Mais elle aide à la rendre plus légère ! He's been told that he doesn't fit the image of a meth addict.
This is something that I constantly get. People look at me and when they ask me what type of drugs I was using and I open up to tell them meth their response is like, "oh hey I didn't see that!" And it wears on me because my addiction fucked me up.
I was on meth for 6 years where it was a problem going in and out of treatment that was forced and some voluntarily. It sucked. Meth sucked out a lot of the things that I had in my life. I hate it.
I've learned that I must surrender to it's coniving ways and learn to fight it. To not give in to it's lies and work on the person I was destined to be. I'm working on it and I will fight to do good.
Love is patient. Love is kind. Peace.
Things after 10 treatments are starting to weigh in now that I am in treatment. Recovery is actually happening. Being at the Phoenix House has motivated me to work my program and find ways to overcome the challenges that may come. He (I) has a lot that I need to work on and I know that it is a tedious process but he's hopeful that his 11th treatment will help him stay sober and safe.
I want to live. I want my life back. The things like my own place, my own car, my family and most importantly my sanity. It's a struggle keeping up with the swings that life throw at me but I know that I can overcome it.
I need to work on self love. On figuring out what it's like to be tender and patient with what's to come. I love recovery where I am at. I have a great counselor, an attentive therapist, and a group of people who are fighting the same battles as I am.
I thank God for all the blessings and will continue to recover.

"For Ash" in memory of my beautiful daughter Ashley Nicole Rissi. @ashrissi the weeping willow signifies My broken heart constantly crying for you and missing you. The tree itself stands for me being strong and rooted to keep your memory alive. The 29 irises signifies how old you were when you passed away. The angel over me, of course is you. Reminding me that you're always you're always with me. I miss you so much forever and ever. This is just rough draft sketch I will be making a painting of this in the future. #lifeafterloss #loss #stayingstrong #sobriety #fightaddiction https://www.instagram.com/p/CTsuZMTvYij/?utm_medium=tumblr
I have to understand what addiction does to family members and the human body. Rather it's yourself or someone you care about and love, this disease came and will tear down. We must have patience when dealing with those that have an addiction, we must show them we do love them while being firm in our support of them getting well. I now have another prayer to pray, and I have to trust God to intervene with the healing and recovery my Brother must start. We can't make them seek help, that's up to them no matter how hard we try and how much it hurts. But what we can do is be here for when they're ready. #fightaddiction #showsupport #nevergiveup #family #brothers #faith #prayer #healinghearts Habh.weebly.com https://www.instagram.com/p/B7OmLegnW8h/?igshid=gescd2zybrha
He’s picking up his life again, this time being cautious
How many times have I felt this same emotion? Where I feel like I am going in the right direction and I get excited about that feeling. It moves me into a sense of comfort that things are going to turn out okay. This time I’m feeling a bit more different. I’m cautious about that emotion because it makes me feel like I should be scared of falling back to where I don’t want to be. As tragic as it sounds, it’s a suffering that feels like it will never am.
I don’t know really what’s going to happen with my life. I mean I have a good idea and I am hopeful that it will be good. I just don’t want to get carried away that nothing terrible will happen.
Being forced away from my responsibilities has introduced a vast amount of problems. Having my credit damaged, my vehicle repossessed, being unemployed, having literally no money or credit to support me... I have come to the realization that I am literally broken. Although because of all the shit I have gone through I am facing it all with a smile on my face. With a tranquility that allows me to understand what “riding the wave” is really like. Although it isn’t surfing... I don’t even know how to surf that well yet.
Nonetheless I am drowning but I feel trained to be able to surpass this. I think all my life I have been put through so much shit that I’ve become numb to the challenges. There is a lot that I still have to work on -- personally. Like being assertive in wanting something good for myself. I am a fairly passive person and put others needs before my own and I’m tired of doing that. I am tired of not getting what I think I deserve because my emotional embezzlement that drugs created.
I’m still working on it really. I have been faced and trialed with old habits like watching “PNP” (party and play) pornography and jerking off and feeling extremely guilty when reaching climax. Bizarre, I know. But it’s these fronts that as soon as I get over that I come to realize that a lot of my addiction was based on feeling comfortable in having sex... with another dude. Do I consider myself gay? Yeah. I also consider myself bisexual. The thought of having sex with a girl is somewhat arousing me, knowing that I don’t have to fall back to drugs again.
I can’t pinpoint the reason but what I know is that whenever I had sex my brain asked for drugs, and whenever I wanted drugs I wanted to have sex, and all of that was tied into porn. There was never a side reason to do drugs really. It wasn’t due to my financial situations, or lack or employment, or lack of acceptance really... Maybe the lack of acceptance. Nonetheless, I have been able to analyze the reason why I use and it’s a really stupid reason.
I have stopped doing so many things that I have been craving to do for such a long time, that even after minimizing my problem with drugs I realize that it was indeed a huge problem. My addiction disguised itself making me feel like there was something wrong with others rather than myself. I call it the narcissistic symptom, in where I am not at wrong what soever, yet everyone else is.
Ranting about this and well working the program of letting things out helps. It helps me more than whoever might be reading this... if there is anyone that does read this.
Even though I feel like I am deep inside a tunnel there’s a lot of light around me. A lot of support that I wish I never lose. I fear that I’ve lost my ability to connect with people in a trusting level, but that’s okay because it reaffirms to me that there are only limited people who I can trust.
Although I feel emotionally and mentally stunk I know that if I apply myself with determination I can redeem the person who I thought I lost. I really, and I don’t know how to express it dearly, really want to live a sober life. One where I don’t have to worry about the voices, the falsehood of things, the desperation, the lack of taking care of myself.
This morning because I have time on my own, a lot of the emotions that I experienced knowing that I will be alone came into my head. It was like a routine that I experience where I felt like I had a break to be rebellious and go get a dose in. Truth is, that there were many times in where I did that and I thought that things would turn out to be magically amazing and those things that I imagined never happened. I was always in panic wondering if people could hear my thoughts, feelings like I’ve let everyone down, my conscious wounded by those ideas. Then I remembered and I pep talked myself. Everything the drug offers is fake. It’s a determent from allowing me to experience what I really feel. It deviates false situations manipulating me into thinking it is real. I am done feeling that way. I want my life back and little by little I hope to get it back.
What helps me is remembering that the steps I take today make a huge impact on how tomorrow will be. The tomorrow me wants to be sober.
