An: imma refer to everyone as their irl names cause it just feels cringe and weird to call them their gamer tags constantly 😭 so for anyone who doesn’t know:
And probably more later on but we’ll see…but I will be using their gamer tags during the podcast section. ALSO, THERE WILL BE NO NSFW ABOUT THESE PEOPLE OR ANY OTHER IRL PEOPLE I END UP WRITING ABOUT (unless they're playing an obvious character in an irl movie,) THESE PEOPLE ARE REAL AND DO NOT CONSET TO BEING DEPICTED THAT WAY, there will be some romantic attributes to the story obviously, like kissing and other dynamics, but everyone needs to understand that these people are real, they're alive they're not made up, yes we can have our little crushes and write our dumb little fanfics about them but making straight up porn about them is so fucking weird. Not just for these people but for other creators as well. RANT OVER, sorry😭
AN #2: fair warning, you’ll know if you’ve read any of my other fics that I always try to keep the character in my fic as reader friendly as possible, that being said this will be a fem reader fic, mainly bc I’m a woman and it’s much more comfortable for me to write female characters, and it’ll also be mentioned in this fic that the reader has long enough hair to be put into an updo, it doesn’t specify how long or thick or any bs like that but I just wanted to let everyone know beforehand. Also it’s mentioned later how reader is absolutely built, so do with that what you will.
You were basically an idol, you were a very very big face in the female bare knuckle fighting scene, you were the John Cena of your sport, and it was amazing.
“Wait so like, okay, how does the fighting thing like actually go?” Max asked as you sat down between him and Jamie. Chris had just gotten through with saying the intro and introducing you. “Like, what do you mean?” you ask back, not getting what he’s asking. “Like, it is like the WWE where you do like flips and jump off the cables n’stuff,” he asked curiously causing you to chuckle a bit. “No no none of that, we get to pick a walkout song and talk with our managers for a full three minutes before actually having to fight, and I do fight in a ring similar to the wrestling ones, but the cables are padded and aren’t elastic or anything and its a hell of a lot smaller,” you explained. “Damn, so it’s like actual fighting,” Nelson chimed in. “What, you thought I was just playing around in there or something?” You raised your eyebrow while Nelson held up his hands in defense. “Nah, that’s not what I meant, I just kinda thought it was like the wrestling matches that Pezzy was talking about, where like some of it’s real but it’s mostly performance,” he stated. “Yeah no, we beat the shit out of each other,” you say with a laugh, lifting your shirt a bit to expose your ribcage where a massive purple and greenish bruise sat, earning a cringing face from everyone in the room. “Holy shit dude,” “yeah I lost my last fight, I got this when she K.O’d me, she threw a hard ass left hook to my face and then as I was falling kneed me in the ribs,” you say pulling your shirt back down. “She got a deduction so I wasn’t all upset but damn, it still hurts like a bitch,” you say with a his as you rub the area through your shirt gently. “Yeah, that looks fucking horrible,” Jamie said with a strained voice. “See that's why I could never do that typa shit, if I were a boxer and my opponent disrespected me like that I’m coming for their fucking family,” he said aggressively, everyone chuckling out loud at his words. “Yeah I mean you kinda know what to expect once you know who you’re up against, this Woman was pretty rough around the edges and known for playing dirty so I kinda expected it,” you admit. “I guess, but damn you have a lot of restraint not getting back up and just crashing out, that’s what I would’ve done, shit,” Chris chimes in. “Well, what the fuck was I supposed to do I was knocked out,” you say defensively. “So did you like go to the hospital or anything afterwards??,” Max asked in a concerned tone. “Technically. I got checked in to my team's doctor and I was advised not to drive myself anywhere for at least two days, that's real, KO’s are no joke,” you said, leaning back into the couch a bit more to get more comfortable.
“Not to like interrupt or anything but like hearing you talk about this is like finally clicking for me, like bro, we dreamed about this when we were kids, this is insane,” Jamie chimed in, he looked kind of nostalgic, which got you thinking more. “Yeah dude I was thinking about that yesterday,” you say as you look at him. “Literally all I talked about was being a boxer or a fighter as a kid and now I’m like actually here getting booked for multiple fights every month, it’s crazy to me,” you agreed with Jamie and he nodded. “And then the same thing with you, you talked so much about becoming a streamer when you were a kid so it’s just like damn, we're like finally here,” you said, the weight of it all setting in. “How far back do y'all even go?” Nelson asked. “I know that y'all were friends when Droid first started streaming, because that's how I met you,” he pointed to you. “But did y'all like actually grow up together or what?” “Pffff, this is my day one dude,” Jamie says casually as he reclines his arm over the back of the couch behind you. “We knew each other when we were still in daycare,” he said as he glanced at you.
“Yeah no me Droid and lived like right down the road from each other,” you say as you adjust yourself between the two guys. “Yeah but like, what age did y’all meet?” Nelson asks.“I think four maybe? Possibly earlier,” you glance over at Jamie and he nods in agreement, “holy shit so y'all like actually grew up together;” Chris said. “Yeah basically, our moms were pretty good friends and I was literally like two houses down from him, so our moms always just kinda put us in the same room while they talked, and we just kinda figured shit out,” you say as you laugh a bit. Jamie laughs too, swallowing his drink so he doesn’t choke on it. “Yeah, bro I remember her mom just came over one day and I saw *gamertag* and I was like ‘what the fuck’,” everyone started laughing, with Max chiming in. “I’m just like imagining baby you,” he says as he points to you, “and baby Droid just like staring at each other,” he says with a laugh. “No cause that’s literally how it was!” You exclaim. “After that, we were just over at each other's house all the time until we were like 12,” Jamie said as everyone’s laughter died down. Chris chuckled a bit, “So what, y'all just stopped hanging out after you turned 12?” he said, everyone laughing a bit more before you responded. “No, I mean like, we started hanging around each other independently, like we wouldn’t just see each other at our mom's house, we’d like be cool around each other in school and stuff,” you say, sipping your energy drink before setting it down again. “Yeah, we met like…maybe a year before going to preschool?, so we knew each other before we even started being social with other kids,” Jamie looks at you to confirm before continuing. “And we didn’t really talk like, at all outside of our moms houses, and then when we got to middle school, everything and everyone just turned akward as hell so we just kinda became better friends because it was like a fucking free for all,” you laugh out, “yeah man middle school was a fucking joke, we were so insanely chopped too, like brother what the fuck were we doing,” you sigh out dramatically as the images of middle school you pop up through your mind like flash bangs. “Yeah fucking right bro, we were nerds in middle school,” Jamie says as he runs his hands over his face, the same thing likely happening to him. “I think that’s the universal experience for everyone,” Max chimes in. “I mean hell, I know I was awkward as fuck in middle school,” he looks over at Nelson. “Oh yeah for sure, middle school was almost my 13th reason, and high school… I just hated school bro,” then everyone simultaneously looked over to Chris, causing everyone to laugh and Chris to look a bit caught off guard. “I don’t know why y'all are looking at me, middle school wasn’t even that bad for me,” he says causing us to laugh some more. The silence after everyone settled down was interrupted by a ding from your phone. You quickly take your phone out to look at it, the familiar ringtone exciting you. “Wowww, okay we see how it is,” Jamie jokes as he looks at you with a fake judgmental look. You chuckled, “Sorry, Sorry, it’s my manager's ringtone I have to check it,” you say apologetically, reading over the text before pausing and looking at everyone in the room. “Cut this if you want but,” you gesture to the camera.
“Y'all wanna go to Vegas?” you ask out of the blue. “What?” Everyone says in unison, causing you to pause and smile a bit before continuing. “I just got booked for a fight in Vegas, and my big boss always allows me to fly out a few people, something about ‘good publicity’ and stuff, are y'all down?” you ask around the room as you look at everyone. “Can’t, I’ve got that trip I’ve been planning, imma be gone for like two weeks with Megan,” “Oh sorry, I forgot about that,” you say apologetically, but Chris just waves his hand dismissively. “Nah don’t apologize you’re good,” Jamie just looks at Max and Nelson, he leaned forward dramatically causing everyone to laugh at the expression on his face. “Y'all are we going to Vegas??,” he asks Max and Nelson in a weary tone, as if he’s trying not to get too excited. Max looks at everyone, and so does Nelson, as if they’re contemplating. Jamie already knew the gist of what was going on, you’d flown him out to Florida, Cali, and all the fun places multiple times to come watch you back when his schedule was a bit more lenient, but now that he’s grown so much the trips became less and less. Which wasn’t that big of a deal, you were happy he’d gotten the proper hype he deserved, but now was an awesome opportunity to finally take not just him, but everyone out on a big trip. “I mean I’m going to Vegas no matter what, it’s up to y’all whether y’all come with me or not,” you say as you put your hands up, making sure they know that it’s all just up to them. “Wait like we’re going to get a free flight out to Vegas?” Nelson asks in a high-pitched tone, leaning forward in his chair also. “Wait free flights?!,” Max turns around swiftly to look at you.“Yeah bro what part of ‘fly you out’ means you’ll have to pay for your tickets??,” you say in an obvious tone as you look at Max. “And your managers like okay with this?? They just let you do this??,” he asks bewildered. “Yeah I tend to go out in public more and do more shit that gets me good publicity so Davi just told me I can bring people with me to my fights, I’ve just gotta let him know in advance, and I’m sure he’d love it even more cause you’re all pretty big creators so it’s even better,” you say as you pull up the message again, just to make sure you were correct. “Shit, I mean I’m down for Vegas,” Jamie says as he looks over to the other two guys. “Hell yeah dude let’s go to Vegas,” Max agreed, Nelson chiming in as well, “Fuck it, guess we’re going to Vegas,” he said, sealing the trip. “Alright then, I’ll text my manager, we’ll probably fly out in three days,” you checked with them to make sure that worked for them, and thankfully it did. You were excited now, they’d all finally get to experience what your job was. You knew what their jobs were like, having fun with friends and playing video games, but now it was their turn. They’d finally get to stay in the nice hotels and see you in the big arena and not just on the TV. You were pumped. “Man, you’ll all love Davi so much, and you’ll get to see the rest of my team,” you said excitedly as you rubbed your hands together. “Davi’s your manager right,” Chris asks. “Yeah, he’s more like family, think of the fun uncle you only see on holidays, that’s Davi,” You described him to the best of your ability.
“It all goes back to Vegas,” Chris said after everything died down, causing you and Max to laugh, and the other guys to chuckle. “Vegas this, Pokémon that, we’ve got like three main topics that it always circles back to,” Nelson said as he grabbed his drink. “What’s the third then?” Chris asked. “Gsupps, use code Cloo at checkout,” Nelson said smoothly as he looked and pointed to the camera smugly, causing Chris, Jamie, and Max to burst out in laughter. “Now this has me thinking, is what it’s like to be a woman?” Everyone is giving Jamie an odd look because of his question. “Oh wait you mean like-,” Nelson begins before laughing his ass off and composing himself after a few seconds of wheezing laughter. “You mean like getting flown out and stuff, is that what you mean?” he finished his previous thought as he tried to catch his breath. This caused you and Max to start laughing as well as it clicked on what Jamie meant. “I mean yeah bro think about it! Hot girls get flown out for free to fancy places all the time! That’s us right now!” he exclaimed, trying to reason with everyone. “Dude, I’ve flown you out to so many places, why is this just now popping into your head??,” you ask Jamie as you laugh, he just smiles back at you. “I don’t know, maybe it’s just because it’s like all of us going together?, I feel like a groupie,” he shrugs, not knowing his reasoning. “Wait, Droid, you’ve gone to Vegas with *Gamer Tag* before?” Chris asks. “Well no, not Vegas, but yeah I used to travel with her all the time,” he admits as Max turns to face Chris. “Yeah, bro remember like three years ago when he was gone for a week like every other month?” he says raising an eyebrow. “That whole time you were traveling with *Gamer Tag*!?,” Nelson exclaims. “Yeah boy, *Gamer Tag* was flying me out damn near everywhere for front row seats, the only time I didn’t go with her was international fights or big tournaments,” Jamie says as he brings an arm over your shoulder and shakes you gently, as if to hype you up. “Yeah, I made Droid my water boy,” “Okay buddy,” Jamie takes his hand away swiftly and puts on an act of distancing himself from you as a joke, causing everyone to laugh again. “Waterboy is crazy,” Max says as he leans backwards.
You leaned back into the sofa too, the conversation flowing between everyone and your mind drifting off a bit, already thinking about Vegas, this was going to be a damn good trip…
The cameras have stopped rolling and the episode was wrapped up. Chris left shortly after saying bye to everyone to pack for his trip with Megan. You waved and told him to tell Megan you said hi, and then he was off. Now everyone was just relaxing in the studio, mostly lining out the details of the trip. “How long are we gonna stay do you think?” Jamie asked, he knew that it usually varied from time to time how long you'd end up staying wherever you were booked. “Uhh, this trip is going to probably be like five days, the first two days will be kinda just for fun, and then on the third day is my weigh-in day and the fourth is my fight, and then the fifth day will be a half day and that's when we'll fly back,” you explain to them all. “This is going to be so fucking cool dude, I've only ever seen you fight on TV, now I get to see it IRL,” Max says happily. “Yeah it’s definitely a lot more fun being there in person, plus our announcers are pretty funny too,” you say with a smile. “What are we going to do on the first two days then?” Nelson asks. “Well I was thinking we’d go to the Casinos or something, maybe go sightseeing and explore a bit, just get comfortable and stuff,” everyone nods in agreement. “We could hit up a few bars or something, maybe find a good club, y'all can find wherever y'all wanna go and I’ll follow, I haven’t been to Vegas as many times as y'all have,” you said as you looked at them. “Nah, that’s mean, we won’t make you go to bars,” Jamie said, dismissing your offer. “What? What’s wrong with bars?” Max asked. “Dude she doesn’t drink,” Nelson pointed out to him. “You don’t drink??,” he says as he dramatically turns to face you. “Dude I’ve been to multiple parties with everyone and I never drink at all, do you just not pay attention?” you ask with a laugh. “I mean I guess not, damn, I never knew that,” he said as he turned back to look at Nelson as he laughed too. “How did I pick up on that before you did,” he says with a chuckle. “I don’t know man, maybe I’m just not that aware of my surroundings at parties,” Max shrugs. “Nah but we can still go to bars and stuff, I still have fun while I’m there,” you assured them. “We’ll figure something out,” Jamie says leisurely, everyone agreeing. “Do you just not drink because you don’t like alcohol or what?” Nelson asked. “Yeah I’ve never been a big fan of it in the first place, and I also have to stay in a certain weight bracket at all times so alcohol has never been worth it to me because it tastes bad and I gain a lot of weight by drinking too,” you explain to him. “Ahhh ok, I knew you didn’t drink but I never actually asked you why,” he nodded. “There’s so much sugar and bad stuff in alcoholic drinks, and it doesn’t even taste that good to me, so I’d rather cheat with like actual candy or good food rather than Alcohol,” he say, Nelson nodding with you. “Yeah I understand that,” Jamie’s arm was still planted behind you on the couch from before, the movement as natural for him as breathing. “I’m sure we could find some other fun places besides bars and clubs, I mean it’s Vegas, there’s gonna be other things you do,” he points out. “Yeah you’re right, I’ll start looking stuff up, and we’ll all get seats together on the plane so we can talk about it,” you say, not stressing about where y'all were going to go. “To be honest, it’ll probably be a lot easier to go places and do things cause we won’t have a part of forty people or something,” Max says. “Oh absolutely, we can literally go anywhere, with a lot less of a wait time, we’ll actually get to explore Vegas this time, not just wait around for everyone to be ready and n’stuff,” Jamie says as he chuckles a bit.
The conversation continues as you all work out the details of the trip, ending up with everyone getting their private room all in the same hall, and everyone getting first-class tickets straight to Vegas. You were all ecstatic, such a vacation out of the blue felt like Christmas in July. You truly believed it was going to be amazing.
After saying goodbye to everyone, you got in Jamie’s car, since he was the one who drove you here in the first place. He started up the car as you relaxed back into the nice leather seats as the music hummed softly through the aged speakers. Not a luxurious car, but a nice one, and one with character, you loved his car. It was silent for a bit, a comfortable silence obviously, everything you felt in Jamie’s presence could only be described as having all the characteristics of ‘Home’ plastered all over it. Both your mom and your dad were happily retired, off traveling and having the fun retirement they so badly deserved, so Jamie was the only Kin you had close to you, him and his family of course. With your parents off on some trip in Europe, or somewhere foreign, it was always nice to have a familiar face from your past be with you, it was just nice to have Jamie around in general.
Five minutes of calm silence are abruptly interrupted by Jamie’s Voice. “You’re sure you’re okay with all of us going?” he asked wearily. You raised your brow and glanced at him oddly. “Yeah man, why wouldn’t I be?” you're face looks puzzled. “I don’t know, don’t get me wrong I’ve always loved traveling with you but I kinda felt like I was always being greedy I guess,” he admits softly, his eyes trained on the road ahead of him. “I get where you’re coming from but you don’t need to feel like that, my boss pays for these trips for me and whoever I bring along, so really all the moneys coming outta his pocket, so you don’t hafta’ worry about me,” you said with a smile as you nudged his shoulder, earning a grin from him as well. “I guess, but you’ve at least gotta let me pay you back a bit in Vegas,” he said trying to compromise. “I won’t stop you from getting me a gift or two I just need you to know that this round trip is costing me nothing,” you said jokingly, smiling as you knew you’d successfully lightened the mood. The comfortable silence filled the car again, and you just sat against the seats warm leather and gazed at Jamie.
You didn’t really know what you were feeling. Of course, you loved Jamie; you’ve known him your whole life. You grew up in his house, and he grew up in yours. Your lives are so endlessly tangled together to the point where it’s hard to decipher who’s more intertwined with who. His mom bakes you your birthday cakes, she’s done that ever since you can remember, and if Jamie’s not home his dad will drop by and ask you to dog sit Jax’s. You talked with his sister about all the embarrassing stories about him, as if you weren’t there for all of them. You stay over at his house whenever he’s away, watching Oso and keeping an eye on his house, sleeping in his bed, and showering in his shower while he’s gone. Jamie checks your mail for you and brings you takeout whenever he gets it for himself. He goes on grocery runs for you whenever you’re sick and stays the night at your house when you’re not on top of your game because he knows you hate being alone. But it runs so so much deeper than that. Your lives are so mangled together that you both bleed into the small crevices of each other's daily routine. He always sits next to you, no matter what, and no matter where, his arm is always resting on the back of your chair, or over your shoulders. When he passes you his hand weaves its way to the small of your back, not even just when it’s ‘necessary’ but just out of habit sometimes. He always walks you to your door, you never get to open any of your doors when you’re around him or pull out any of your chairs. He always asks you to fix his hair because he ‘likes the way you do it’. Anytime he goes anywhere on a trip he brings you back at least three trinkets or gifts, because he was just ‘thinking of you’ while he was gone. He likes for you to sleep over during thunderstorms because he likes to be safe and know that you’re safe too. You go to doctors' visits with him, more like drag him to the doctors, just because he knows that if he doesn’t know something about himself, you do.
All of it blurs so much that you’ve somewhat completely forgotten how to think traditionally, or maybe you just never knew how to in the first place. Boyfriend? What? No, you’ve got Jamie. But, Jamie’s not your boyfriend, and you’re not his girlfriend. You and Jamie are NOT together, but neither of you ever really talk about getting into relationships either. What do you need a boyfriend for? You have Jamie, he knows every single little thing about you, from basic things like your favorite color, and what movies you like, to the mundane things like how you like your eggs cooked in the morning, and that you most likely get sick around certain times of the month. That didn’t mean that you didn’t recognize that you were attracted to Jamie, oh you were. His hair was always so handsome to you, you loved how he kept it semi-long, and you loved how funny he was. He was your type, or maybe your type was just Jamie, your type was anyone who resembled him the closest.
But it’s was the fear that kept you from taking that next step. It was such a blessing to have someone as caring and loving as Jamie in your life, but it was also scary. What if he didn’t feel the same way at all and just loved you like a sister, what if you screwed it all up? The draw back of having someone so intangled in your very person, nearly as much as you were in theirs, was just that. If something went wrong and things got awkward, how would you even survive without him. You’ve known the warmth of his bed and the comfort of his grip late at night with the rain pouring down like rapids outside the window just a few feet from you. And you’ve known the smell of his kitchen the very next morning when he insists on cooking you breakfast. What would you do if you lost it all? You couldn’t even think about it, so you don’t, you just comfortably bask in the blurriness of the line defining what you two were to each other.
His car rolled to a stop, and he shifted the gear into park, swiftly getting out and jogging to the passenger side door. You’d just learned to not even attempt to open your door, you were often met with it being closed back in your face or you being playfully shoved back into the car just so Jamie could close the door and re-open it for you, some battles you’ve learned to submit in. He opened your door and extended you a hand because the curb was quite steep. After helping you out he walked you up to your door, his shoulder rubbing with yours as you both walked the paved path, his hand finding your lower back again. You pull your keys out and Jamie simply places a chaste kiss to your temple where he stands next to you, taking his hand away from the small of your back and heading back to his car. “Goodnight, *Name*, see you tomorrow,” he said as he got further from you, your keys unlocking your door. Of course you’d see him tomorrow, you saw him every day. “Night Jamie!,” you say loudly as he was already back to his car and you stepped into your house.
In an odd way, you hoped this never changed.
