A delicious small-batch fig jam recipe that captures the sweet and fruity essence of fresh figs with a hint of lemon.
Ingredients: 1 pound fresh figs, stems removed and quartered. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
Instructions: Sugar and quartered figs should be combined in a medium saucepan. Simmer on low heat for approximately 10 minutes, stirring from time to time, or until the sugar is completely dissolved and the figs begin to release their juices. After adding the lemon juice, cook the jam for a further 15 to 20 minutes, or until it thickens and reaches the consistency you like. Take it off the stove and give it some time to cool. Fill a sterilized jar with the fig jam, then seal it. Let it cool completely before putting it in the refrigerator. Savor your homemade fig jam with crackers, toast, or as a garnish for sweets!
