A type-in database program (following up on an article introducing it the month before) provided the cover story for this issue. One article explained how to add a multifunction memory expansion board and internal hard drive (replacing one floppy drive) to your Tandy 1000; the author concluded his article with some BASIC benchmarking showing Tandy's MS-DOS machine could be outsped in some aspects by a Color Computer with the "high speed poke" enabled, although an IBM PC AT beat both of them. Lonnie Falk's editorial looked ahead to moving into the new Falsoft Building ("from 4,800 square feet to 18,000 on three floors"), and the magazine got around to reviewing Tandy's portable disk drive for the Model 100.
