Featured Article: Divine Intervention (album)

This week's Featured Article is thought to be the most expensive filk album ever created! It's Divine Intervention by Julia Ecklar.

First released in 1986, and unlike other filk tapes of its time, it was recorded in a studio and used professional musicians. It was well regarded, and several songs on the album went on to win multiple awards in the filk community across the years. Additionally, many of the songs on the album also inspired filk by others, most notably the songs "Ladyhawk" and "Temper of Revenge"..

This is based on a stupid 60’s song “Henry the Eighth”, and for some reason I thought it was hilarious, so I sang it to Red.

Fearing the suns final eclipse, men turn the night to day but anguish also narrows wits and scares foresight away little wisdom stays to the panicked men the hunter hunts the victim flees and dread does still remain Chorus: Three things can´t be trusted In the fright that walks the night The oath of men, the fire’s light And the sounds of hidden life Little does the darkness care About the stranger’s dread Like dancing shadows in the flame The restless feelings spread The blades and armors shining bright and blinds the fighters eye And in the dark The shadows waits To hunt the hunters pride Chorus: Three things are deceiving In the light of lanterns spark The strenght of blades, the might of men And a gleaming in the dark

Depths of Darkness

Hello darkness my old friend I’ve come to wait for you again because a shadow slowly creeping left its touch while I was sleeping, and the feeling that was planted in my head began to spread, within the depth of darkness. In restless dreams I fought alone, on endless stairs of marbled stone. beneath the presence of an eminence I turned my back against my own friends, when my heart was occupied by the night and shunned the light. I touched the depth of darkness. And in the burning light I saw, ten thousand hearts maybe more, hearts watching without seeing, hearts touching without feeling, hearts searching fates that no one ever shared and no one cared. bound to the depths of darkness. Friends, said I, you do not know, darkness like an illnes grows, hear my call that I might reach you, take my hand and light breaks through. But my soul fell and remained as an empty shell, and echoed in the deapths of darkness. And the hearts they bowed and prayed to the darkly lord they made and the stars flashed out their warning, bleeding silent sparks of mourning and the stars whispered words from distant memories a shivering breeze. And vanished in the depth of darkness
