So I'm clear when I say or agree with "queer is a slur" I mean it in a "that some but not all people have reclaimed so don't use it in broad strokes for the whole community cause people are clearly uncomfortable" way not a... You can't self ID as queer way. Idk if there are actually people with the latter stance but that sure is a BAD take.

I've read spiral at least 5 times before which is some dedication. But I remains a series I can no longer re-read after high school cause it is just too much melodrama and pseudophilosophy.

Idk if you ship it or not but Moriyama/Izuki arranged marriage AU?

Their first attempt at conversation as newlyweds involved Moriyama grasping at straws and mentioning his enjoyment of the church’s bells. To that, Izuki replied, “If you liked it you should have put a ring on it!” while flashing his wedding band.

The twitch of Moriyama’s lips as he attempted to hold back his chuckles made Izuki think that maybe this marriage had more hope than he thought.

(I’ve seen this ship around and I don’t dislike it I don’t really ship it either--but here’s my attempt, as well as a very poor choice of pun. Get it. Because bells ring. And he’s got a ring. Ha ha.)

I thought about leaving this in the tags to another post but since I’m disagreeing with it I’m just gonna put it here.

While I agree that fandom doesn’t talk about Hagrid enough or give him nearly enough love, I really don’t agree with this post and the sentiment that goes along with it. (the OP tagged it ‘fuck Sirius’ which, okay, seems like there’s some other stuff going on with this post and it’s some Sirius-hate and not just Hagrid-love).

I don’t argue that Hagrid loves Harry a lot, that they are close and that their relationship is important.  But it’s not really a parent-child dynamic, and when it comes down to it, Hagrid really doesn’t function as a healthy parent figure for Harry.  Most of the time, Harry and Ron and Hermione are going out of their way to help Hagrid with his problems, not the other way around.  Hagrid loves them, yes, but these children end up being the ones who are breaking rules to try to help him, a grown adult.  They are the ones dealing with his tantrums and emotional outbursts.  They give him comfort and advice (it’s true he sometimes offers the same, but by my recollection, not as often).  And that’s like, not how parent-child relationships are meant to work.  I’m not articulating this very well, but it’s this dynamic that sometimes parents get into with their kids where they are constantly in crisis and the child is the one doing damage control and worrying about preserving their emotional health, and ends up needing to grow up faster than they should.  Now there’s a lot of other stuff that happened to make Harry grow up too fast, and I don’t think the relationship with Hagrid is abusive in that way because I honestly don’t think Harry thinks of him in that light at all.  He’s a friend, not a parent figure.  But if he WERE a parent figure, those behaviors would be Not Good.

When it comes down to it, when things are really bad, Hagrid is one more strain on Harry’s time and emotions.  Him cheering Harry on, and spending time with him, and giving gifts, those are all lovely and wonderful things.  But honestly their dynamic is far more like friends than parent-child.
