Sometimes the voices of the hat man give me good ideas.)#I have been vibrating with excitement for when we finally get to the chicken scene.#Because I really want to draw chickens! I love chickens! They are so optimally shaped for maximal cuteness.#That's a creature that was designed to be fluffy and sit on things. What is there to *not* love!#I know there is more significance to the whole exchange but really...I think Lan Wangji deep down just wants to hold cute creatures.#His hands are big and gentle and not meant for swords! They are made to be filling rabbit hutches with fresh hay and petting chickens.#This is to say; Lan Wangji's problems could all have been avoided if he was a farmboy.#He can still be a farmer. The two of them could run off into the country and start something new.#"True love is possible only - in the next world - for new people” Is a disco elysium quote I think about for wangxian all the time.#Ah but that's a different tangent. Look forwards to more art tomorrow!

#art #morrowind #acrylic gouache #watercolor #tes morrowind #dagoth ur #ash ghoul #when i struggle to draw anything dagoth ur appears on the page as though summoned and he makes it all better. :)#there is something uniquely comforting about i have delivered you from the hands of your enemies #he does not quite hit the mark on the other dreams insofar as being welcoming and unforeboding but in this one for me he did #if dagoth ur were taking notes for the next try.#theres also the difference in treatment of dead #i.e. cremation and eventual communal ash dumping (care for the spirit and release from physical presence and ties and limitations and so on #vs the care for the body and repurposing. with corprus none will be forced to suffer death but in this singular case of care for a dead bod #in this one dream as an example. theres a reverence and care for the flesh present here that is alien to its context #theres also the use of the body as it lives with the consumption of corprusmeat which sloughs off the shambling undying #which is a whole other -not unrelated- thing #anyways this is all unimportant. i just like to see this dream as an extension of the temple belief that nerevars corpse #became an ashwalker after death. its a bit of temple belief i love a lot and ill take this as mr. urs corroboration of that story #if you cannot comfort the spirit then you are left with comforting the body. in a cynical reading this is self-serving to ones own grief #a comfort for the living to care for the deceased for a final time. but with a belief that the dead derive something positive from the act #it is a final act of service and love. given in the only avenue left available.#also also. why fully divorce the ideas of spirit and body. could a person not be the sum total of these two things? one or the other #not fully encompassing the entirety of their being? you loved the person. who they were was also their body. you love the body as well #to care for the body is to care for the person. even if the body is empty because the body is a part of them.#this is the context that i look at that dream from and see it as love and care.#but also yeah i get its also a clear reference to the promise of eternal corpruslife. more than one thing can be true at once.

#pokemon #pokemon ruby and sapphire #hoenn #gen 3 #flygon #aquanutart #i made this in the dead of winter a couple of years ago #after wanting for the whole year to enter the tcg illustration contest but i ended up working on something at the last minute as usual #i don't like competition but i enjoy having a reason to draw a pokemon with a lot of other people #i was waking up early before work to keep making progress on it but i thought i wasn't going to make the deadline #and when i had just decided i had done as much as i could and couldn't get it finished #i went out on that cold snowy day and on that day and that day only for some reason my car wouldn't start #we tried starting it with jumper cables but i'm not sure i know how to use them.. anyway i had to call someone and wait for them to come #i had to call in late to work and then i was waiting for two hours. which was just about enough time for me to keep working on this #i was able to submit it seconds before the deadline the next morning #and it's very cool to me that i was able to participate even though i didn't place (i'm actually glad i didn't place)#(because i would rather it go to someone who worked longer on their entry and/or started earlier before the deadline)#(i just wanted to join everyone in drawing a pokemon but i would prefer for it to just be its own thing and not compared to other pokemon)#this is partly why it's cool to me to have the tcg cards from the contest i also entered!#i chose to draw flygon because gen 3 is one of my favorites and i grew up in the desert and always wanted to imagine pokemon running around #that was the last era of my childhood before i moved and had to grow up where everything was new and different #for 12 years overseas i was homesick for this sun #i'm in a snowier place now but i see the sun even in winter so i'm happy!#since drawing this i appreciate and notice flygon a lot more! i always thought trapinch was very cute #i love the scene in twilight wings final episode when flygon is looking around and scanning; it's so cool #and because of this i got very excited to see flygon in the pokearth documentary flying like a dragonfly #i had wanted to imagine it landing a bit like a bug

#rambling for the lore of this incoming >#if you’ve seen my first art of this (what this one is based on) somewhere in in the submas corners of the interweb too #I just wanted to draw submas angst but had onky just discovered their sygna suits and wanted ti draw them immediately #even though it doesn’t make sense for him to be wearing that when ingo disappeared #I was thinking he disappeared during a party (I’ll get to this) which is where the first painting was set but I don’t like that either #I’m not sure if this has been disproven (is masters even cannon?) but this goes with the idea that Ingo disappeared and returned #before submas made it to pasio #(ig they just don’t talk about it because how do you explain that to someone. Also idk Pokémon lore but #wouldn’t be surprised if arceus could just change reality to make it as if the time travel never happened)#but that something could have happened during the Sygna arc (or something shortly after it #the original piece had the concept of a birthday party and I really like the idea that they do indeed share a birthday #but emmet keeps calling it specifically Ingo’s birthday because he’s shy and doesn’t know how to accept presents but like #everyone who knows how twins work knows it’s also his birthday and Ingo wants to make it as apparent as possible #so emmet doesn’t get left behind too anyway I just thought that was funny and cute #and it would also explain why the art was called ingo day)#that reminded emmet of when Ingo disappeared and it was all traumatic #The following pieces take the idea that afterwards they finally properly got to discuss what it was like for emmet when Ingo was gone #and that he never really got closure or to properly experience finding him despite all his efforts #lead by the idea that being more direct and socialable in his hunt is what Ingo would have wanted #So then idk if they stage a situation where emmet gets to find Ingo like he wanted to #or if they make it seem to him like Ingo actually did disappear again and thats what will be illustrated in the next two pictures #Submas’s design is based off the happy and sad drama masks so I wouldn’t be surprised if they liked acting #And maybe they just wanted to make a performance which helps them both deal with the trauma of Ingo’s disappearance #by presenting it differently and expressing more obviously that emmet did technically find Ingo #and that he managed to have the power or the spirit to come back because of emmet/the memory of him #And they wear their sygna suits because they like wearing them ig also #also because a bit part of that in Pokémon masters is the fact they’re fighting each other #so yeah that could come with some extra angst because it might be like their first seperatipn since Ingo’s disappearance or something #Also probably for more reasons for why theure wearing them ig sygna suits I’ll think about it ig #submas

I am so sorry Carm #but anyways. inspiration was finally found!#aka: I played Slay The Princess and will now make that everyone's problem if given the opportunity to do so.#by the way I very much recommend STP! It's very good!#It is horror so if you aren't great at consuming horror directly you could probably look up someone's yt playthrough.#though it's not really like horror movie horror I think? in my opinion most of the atmosphere came from the VERY excellent sound design.#so muting it if I got a bit too creeped out worked for me. but that may be a subjective thing? there are also content warnings one can chec #okay. listen. was there technically a five sentence limit for the specific ask game post being referenced? yes.#but I conflated it with a /different/ ask list and only realized AFTER I'd finished up this piece.#and i don't feel like rewriting this fucker(affectionate) when this is the first real thing I managed in two months. so here we are.#I did legit consider trying to write all of these. but tonight is the first time I've managed /anything/ solid for any of them.#so you're getting this. and the other prompts are sitting in an ellipsus doc.
