[100 Days of Productivity Challenge]

Day 1: Pneumocystis Pneumonia

A case I encounter last week on possible PCP has driven me to learn the details on this disease. Being one of the leading opportunistic infections (OI) in immunocompromised patients, and yet has limited diagnostic method (Beta-D-Glucan lab test is not available in the country, to my knowledge, so we have to rely on giemsa staining), PCP proves a diagnostic challenge that, rightly treated, may help improve prognosis in said patients.

Day 30: Intramuscular injection

Ok. Let’s be clear: In almost 6 mos of internship, this is my first time doing IM injection (well ada digital block sih does it count). Super stoked. Hamdalah 😭
