these are some notes from our tropical diseases topic. i had panic attacks during one of my exams and i can't stop blaming myself for it. i'm still so sad about it cause i know i could do so much better. i'm not ready to see the results :(

I wasn't prepared

Two days on psych, seen about 6 patients total. No one prepared me for the emotional rollercoaster I would be taken on.

Pernah ga kepikiran

Pengen jadi coas yang asik, pokoknya kalo pas pembagian grup, temen2 yang berada pada grup yang sama bilang "enak ya ada si A, amanlah kelompok kita" atau "untung ada si A"

Bukan jadi coas pato, yang kalo sudah pembagian grup, temennya pada bilang "yah, males ah, ada si B" atau "yah, bakal susah ni kelompok, soalnya ada si B"

Buat pandangan kayak gitu susah sih. Harus lurus, ikuti penuh aturan yang ada, harus bisa back up temen, minimal ga jadi beban (yang susah sih back up temen yang jadi beban)

Intinya kalo mau coas yah coas aja, mau lurus atau belok2 gapapa asalkan jangan jadi beban sih.

Kasihan temennya.

Day 1: Pneumocystis Pneumonia

A case I encounter last week on possible PCP has driven me to learn the details on this disease. Being one of the leading opportunistic infections (OI) in immunocompromised patients, and yet has limited diagnostic method (Beta-D-Glucan lab test is not available in the country, to my knowledge, so we have to rely on giemsa staining), PCP proves a diagnostic challenge that, rightly treated, may help improve prognosis in said patients.
