WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK
in some fandoms, hiveswap especially, there is a form of cuteness aggression where people will look at a character they either hate or love and still want them to go through unimaginable horrors regardless
it gets to the point that you will see a person describing wanting to torture a character and throw them at a wall and it is not immediately obvious whether they genuinely despise this character or want to marry them
I think the best example that I’ve seen is lonner
~13 years old troll with a lollipop and a little sailer’s outfit and the fandom is divided between wanting to nurture and protect him and wanting him to die a violent and bloody death. maybe it is the fact that he’s so innocent and whimsical or maybe we are just hungry for tragedy
I also think that is the mark of good writing and character design if you can make a character that has literally done nothing wrong at all and still have people want to throw him into oncoming traffic
Hiveswap has been really great at designing characters that, despite their small roles, are insanely lovable to the fandom. even the background characters have fans and every character has some form of care and love put into them. it’s my firm belief that every character is somebody’s baby
I’m still waiting to find a troll that I have a strong attachment to because none of them have been particularly alluring to me. it’s not to say that I don’t like any of them but I’d like to have an all time favorite and be able to say that with confidence. I’m hoping that act 3 will have them and I’ll finally get to meet my baby
I feel like people tend to forget that the reason children are on websites they really shouldn't be on, like Twitter for example, is because there are no spaces on the internet anymore specifically designed for children, unless it's for babies or toddlers.
The death of Flash also meant the death of thousands of games and websites specifically designed for the 9-13 demographic. Now granted, several games died long before Flash did (like the Holy Disney MMO trio - Pixie Hollow, ToonTown and Club Penguin) but there were other websites designed around what kids would enjoy. Sites like Kongregate, Sploder, GirlsGoGames and others were designed with kids in mind.
These sites were special in the sense that it gave fun games for children to play without even really needing to interact with other people directly. They could play the games and have fun. If they wanted to make friends they could, and oftentimes these sites had moderation to prevent kids from having full control over what they could say so as to prevent bullying and potential cyberstalking.
But now Flash is dead, and there's barely any hangout spots for that demographic anymore. I think the last remaining game you can play that doesn't require Flash that was a major part of the 2010s game nostalgia was Wizard101, but that game comes with the flaw of membership programs, similar to all the other MMOs that existed at the time.
Needless to say, the next time we ask in annoyance why there's so many 12 year olds on Twitter and Tik Tok, remember that it's because there's literally no online spaces anymore solely for them and only them, that majority of adults wouldn't step foot into anymore.
I want Roy Mustang carnally.
this is so insane. im so proud of dan & phil. i love them so much. they've been a subplot of my life for ten years and they finally don't Have to hide anything anymore. this new era is going to go so hard
One sec, just going to put this here rq
Not for discourse but just as a common decency thing
@baconsausagepepperonipizza if a minor says not to interact if you're over a certain age and you still follow them. And if a minor has talked multiple times about how they've been harassed/doxxed/ otherwise hurt by pro Endos you also shouldn't interact. You're probably going to end up looking like a disrespectful person if you interact anyway.
I would like you to acknowledge that people have boundaries, and that you are breaking those boundaries. This is the bare minimum, respect that.
So the universe and I have been having a conversation the last several months that went basically like this:
Universe: So, planetary magick.
Me: No, that's intimidating.
Universe: Such a shame about the Mercury retrograde trouble you've been having, wouldn't it be nice if you knew planetary magick so you could do remediation...
Me: I don't feel comfortable with ceremonial stuff. Maybe when I get to the exercises in Psychic Witch about working with the planets.
*Right after, gets the opportunity to take an intermediate astrology course IF I actually get serious about what I've been learning instead of skating by on osmosis and looking things up*
Me: ...
Universe: ...
Me: So, planetary magick...
So in related news, I've spent the last couple of weeks rather intensely studying astrology. I've read a fair amount over the last few years, but only casually--following whatever sparked my interest. So going back and making sure my foundational knowledge is solid and filling in any gaps has been an interesting experience.
I'm still not sure if astrology just got more obviously relevant in 2020, or if I stumbled into the current without realizing it as I "casually" read about it and it ended up gradually affecting me more until I couldn't ignore it anymore. Either way though, I just started @adapembroke's Intermediate Chart Interpretation course, so astrological topics will probably find their way into my posts here. Even just starting to shift to an evolutionary astrology way of thinking about charts has been really helpful for me, so it's definitely going to be an interesting class.
Announcement:
I'm going to put this blog on permanent hiatus. It's not doing anything for me anymore even after I tried to revive it, and I'd rather just post all my art in one place.
If you'd like to see more of my art, you're welcome to follow my main blog @flame-shadow, but no pressure!
Thanks for the fun~
