My service dog knows I'm not doing well today at all and having multiple flare-ups, so she tried to share one of her toothbrushing treats with me (they're her favorites) 😭
If nothing else goes right, I know my dog loves me and wants me to be happy

Dear Sephiroth: (a letter to a fictional character, because why not) #551

I... Yes. Going swimming yesterday definitely flared-up the rib injury. It's been hard to move. Hard to think. Pretty much all day today.
...I have done absolutely nothing other than type at a handful of people, derp around on the internet, and... yeah. That's pretty much it. Besides taking ibuprofen and trying to stay hydrated, of course.
To be clear... I regret absolutely nothing. Also... on a bit of a hunch, I did some wall-ups (they're kinda like push-ups, except you do them against a wall instead of the floor) until something in my sternum, near where my right collarbone and upper right ribs connect, went crunch in a beautiful way. The pain reduced a lot from there. But... it's still not absent.
When The Symptoms™️ begin to appear and I have to wonder if it's autistic burnout or a flare-up.
SO. I think my Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS for short) might be flaring up in my breasts.
When I was fifteen my first flare-up occurred under my arms, and I had surgery to remove the tunneling cysts and infected area, then had a reconstructive surgery about a month or so later. However, during recovery from my first operation, my surgeon let me and my mother know that the cysts had tunneled down a lot more than they had originally thought and were starting to go into my breats, so they weren't able to get all of it without me needing a second surgery. Since I was a teenager and it wasn't a whole lot, they decided to leave it be.
Now fast forward, I'm 24 years old--almost 25--and I've been having intense pain in my breasts for the past couple of weeks. Like, two and half months-ish. Doing self-exams, I've noticed small lumps, nothing that's visible, but sometimes they're there, sometimes they're not, but they hurt like hell when too much pressure is applied and can cause a pain flare in and of itself.
Now I'm no expert, and it's been a while since I've had a flare, but given the context and knowing my past experience, I'm 93% sure it's my HS in my breasts starting to flare. Which unfortunately, has been effecting my binding.
I've noticed that when I bind my chest, I always flare up later, no matter how long I've been binding for. Mind you, I always do my best to bind safely--using my proper size, never going over 8 hours, stretching, all that happy jazz.
I'm low-key so fucking upset about it. One of the few things that helps my dysphoria and I have to take an indefinite break from it because I might be in stage 1 of an HS flare, my first one in years.
I'll be going to my PCP and seeing what he has to say with weather or not he's going to send me to my dermatologist two hours away and have her evaluate things or if he's going to do it here in my city before I make the mini-trip.
Hidradenitis Suppurativa fucking sucks.
Long Covid Flare-up
I got Covid on Feb. 25, 2020, and have had issues ever since, with symptoms flaring up whenever my body is stressed physically, mentally, or emotionally. I was doing so much better from June 2021 until Sept. 2021 when I tested myself by doing a strenuous workout and flared again but was improving in Oct. Then on Nov. 4th, 2021 I got the booster and flu vaccine and have been in a flare ever since.…
