Previous part First Jegulus part
Barty, Evan and Regulus hopped into the van and drove to the café.
“Oh, by the way, all your boxes are in the back,” Barty told Regulus conversationally as they waited at a red light. “I tried to drop them off on Saturday, but there was no one around.” He moved his foot from the break and onto the accelerator and gunned it when the light turned green.
“Oh, yeah, Sirius and Remus were having a BBQ, and they invited me. That’s kind of why I need your help,” Regulus said, wincing when Barty squeezed the van between a parked car and a sticking-out bus.
“Don’t tell me it’s your brother we’re out to get? Did he give you food poisoning or something?” Barty flicked his eyes to Regulus and back to the road, narrowly avoiding two cyclists riding two abreast. “Nob heads! Use the bike path!” He bellowed out of the window as he raced past them.
“No. There’s this TickTock guy who’s been recording Sirius ranting in the café. Which is fine, but he recorded all the stuff with me. He snuck into the back and filmed Sirius having a panic attack and some other things. Sirius is really fucked up over it all.” Regulus said sadly. “So, I thought we’d give the guy a taste of his own medicine. We know who it is, he’s a regular, but the whole family is coming, and I thought you two could bring a bit of menace to the situation.”
Strangely, Barty was extremely angered by the audacity of a stranger filming someone having a panic attack and uploading it for others to see. He himself had suffered from panic attacks and knew how private they were. This piece of shit was going down.
They rounded the final corner to see the café in front of them and beside the side door, a blonde figure stood waiting.
“Is-is that Pandora?” Regulus asked. “Did you call her?” He turned to Evan.
“Nope,” Evan whispered.
“I swear she has powers,” Barty said, just as quietly.
“Yeah, and she doesn’t always use them for good either,” Evan added. All three men gulped as Barty carefully pulled the van up beside the kerb.
“Hi Panda,” Evan called out of the window, his voice only slightly strained. “What are you doing here?”
“Oh, you know, just felt like I should be,” The men in the van all shared a look before they got out.
Barty threw open the van doors, and they all grabbed a box while Pandora used Regulus’s key to let them in. She pranced up the stairs and unlocked the door at the top. They made quick work of unloading the few belongings Regulus owned and, after a quick tour, followed him into the kitchen and, for the first time in, Barty had forgotten how many years, he laid his eyes on Sirius Black.
