Last week, through our partners @ #FFWCC we were able to hatch 344 Frosted #FlatwoodsSalamander eggs in our #SalamanderLab — This imperiled species is the #1 priority at the Amphibian Foundation, which houses the only captive colony on the planet! Most of the larvae will be permanently housed outdoors in our 20 #mesocosms (artificial wetlands) where we can rear them into adulthood in 'semi-wild' conditions. The Amphibian Foundation is participating in a month-long local artist exhibit at Kavarna in Decatur. We have a mini #RibbitExhibit there with archival prints of #Ambystoma cingulatum and #Cruziohyla craspedopus. Also, a framed poster print of a Slimy Salamander #Plethodon glutinosus.
