With each passing day, I start to grow stronger feelings for Reylo. Do you have any advice on how to embrace this? I don't know if I'm ready.....
I know of many friends who spent the past two years coming to grips with their true feelings. They were scared of Star Wars twists and of people judging them for liking a (relatively mild) villain ship. But they, too, have succumbed. :)
Consider that the Polish dub of the film has them saying “You’ll never be alone again” to one another as opposed to “You are not alone.” They are ... fated. In a way that possibly no other Star Wars character has ever been. Together, they will bring balance to the Force and to the universe, whatever that means. Will they did tragically in each other’s arms? Perhaps. Will Ben continue his downward spiral as Rey reluctantly accepts he can’t be saved? Seems ... doubtful. Or will their fascination with one another bring them closer, to a point where Ben can believe he can fight by someone’s side without demanding anything from them? Where Rey can believe someone won’t leave her after all? Where their power and affection aren’t ever in doubt?
Before this movie, I thought they might be important to each other’s character arcs, a way of understanding themselves better. I thought they might be forced to team up at the end, and that they’d share a moment of connection where they touched hands and went their separate ways.
Now? I’m gunning for marriage. Two equal stars constantly circling one another, forever, making each other better, making the universe better by virtue of constantly questioning it and making it conform to the world the way they see it -- better, clearer, and full of love.
