Nooo Flickercry's quails!!

Out of curiosity, what is the general opinion from the rest of the clan about the quails, and about them needing to be eaten now? How many did Flickercry have, and are there any left? :c

Flickercry does still eat birds, although she definitely does prefer other prey like small mammals instead. if you've ever seen baby quails irl they move like a pack of dust motes it's so funny

i totally missed how flickercry keeps quails until the clan wanted to eat them LOL

are they kept for eggs? or just as pets? does ranchclan keep any other animals?

it was pretty subtle one moon when she caught one in a pitfall trap! (same kind of trap from valleyclan, that got Sunnystep and Yarrowbloom when she was just a paw) she keeps a small collection of them, but is steadily growing it. Cats are allowed to eat the eggs because the quails are bad at hatching them on their own anyways.

Other than her stellar jay, QisQis and Beetlebite's snail (who I haven't named 💀), ranchclan currently doesn't ranch any other animals! Cats domesticating other animals isn't something that's majorly caught on in other cat clowder circles, and Valleyclan has specific rules about it (no "owning" anything with 4 legs, including birds, because it makes them too close to twolegs - there is a pit of domesticated spiders in their healers' den).
