Florentius Baenius and curing vampirism:

I don't think I've shared this headcanon before and it is occupying my brain so here we go -

I fully believe that Florentius knows the same ritual Falion does, the one that can cure a person of vampirism. He knows all the steps and requirements, can in theory perform the whole thing and it would definitely work with his high-level skill in magika.

Except he can't do it.

Why? Because that ritual demands the use of a black soul gem which by its nature is a) obtained by murder and b) consumes/destroys the person's soul thus taking it out of Arkay's cycle - Florentius as a priest of Arkay just cannot perform the ritual.

Maybe it would be a violation of his vows, maybe Arkay would shake his brain like a maraca if he tried, either way it just *blue screen* - nope, not happening. Oh and he's definitely never told Isran he even knows the ritual because that would go down well!
