« Yeah, yeah. Follow Garret, and be showing your pearly whites too. And don't fret, I keep a straight-word. The Master runs the twist. »
For some reason, I feel Set's unique vernacular might unintentionally be quite charming for some people in the Wasteland. Too bad he's too much of a stuck-up bastard to recognize duly awe when it's right in front of him.
Having a minor setback... Set... back...

Been playing Fallout 1, and I can’t help to wonder what Cooper Howard was doing during the events of 2077-2161? Especially, if he made his way to Necropolis at some point?
Was this an excuse to talk about Set?
YES!!!!! MWAHAHA!!!!!!!
No, but for real, Fallout 1 established communities that existed, prior to the vault dweller’s emergence from Vault 13 in 2161. Around this time period, What was Howard doing?
For Season 2, we know we get past glimpses of Howard’s past, and that S2 will showcase how he and Barbara split, though, will it also show how Howard lost Janey in the aftermath of the Great War? If S2 is building up that information, then, will it be possible that in the next seasons, glimpses of pre-war mixed with the aftermath on how Cooper Howard adapted to the wasteland?
That’s an area of interest I’ve been waiting to see in the tv series!!! I really want to see how Howard evolved into the ghoul that he became before meeting Lucy. Also maybe showcase his interactions with the characters from Fallout 1 and 2? :3
Necropolis is built upon the remnants of Bakersfield, California, and was brought up by Howard as a place to retire. Of course, he wanted to build a ranch, and while I doubt that the writers were two steps ahead on this input of information, Barb squashed this idea since they will be too far away to evacuate in time. Though, did Barb knew about what would take place in Vault 12, hence her urgency to dismiss Howard?
Vault 12 was an experimental vault that tested the exposure to radiation at high-levels. For the people of Bakersfield that took shelter, the vault was purposefully designed to leak radiation into the vault. The surviving people of Vault 12 became ghouls, and left their vault in 2083 to settle in Bakersfield would be the founders of Necropolis.
Set, the total bastard that he is pretty much takes control of Necropolis, and is the leader for like seventy-three years until the eventual fall of Necropolis.
Anyway, on to Cooper Howard, eventually, he takes up the rogue cowboy persona, and becomes a kickass bounty hunter. So, here is where I yap about fanon interpretations and hunches.
When Cooper became a ghoul, did he or did he not seek out Necropolis as some sort of refuge? This question is mainly under the assumption that little to no ghoul communities existed out in the wasteland. Along with Necropolis being defined as the main hotspot for the ghoul community in Fallout 1.
Was Cooper disgusted at the actions of cannibalism (out of desperation to eat anything), and eventually accepted the immoral act as a way of life in the wasteland? Or did his time in Necropolis had him accept cannibalism due to Set proposing the act of cannibalism as an okay practice for his people. I mean if they are already considered zombies, might as well act like it lol
What if Cooper was already a kickass after stumbling across Necropolis? His purpose in Necropolis is the gather information about Vault 12, and if any person connected to Vault-Tec was apart of it?
Set may have butted heads with Cooper. They have never gotten along besides a transactional business relationship. To Set, Cooper is a possible opponent that can seize him of his leadership, though, that has never been Cooper’s interest since his goal is to find his family. If that was the case, Set would have had probably banish Cooper out of Necropolis.
Set may have utilized Cooper’s bounty hunting ability to fetch or kill off any ghoul, human, and mutant that got in his way. Perhaps, this is where Cooper started his bounty career, by being one of the many ghoul guards Set had to punish any ghoul that preached pacifism. In other words, lap dog Cooper Howard to Master Set :3
Overall, I like the idea of Necropolis playing a part Cooper Howard’s early life post-war. I’ll see what S2 and the eventual seasons will propose, overall, I like Set :3
So I decided the first fallout angst one shot is gonna be a 2nd person P.O.V body horror fic of if Set ever started going feral cause why the fuck not
An uncharacteristically scared Set He’s my son and I love him
