Concept art of Harold grounded in Oasis, home of the Treeminders who worship him, created by Adam Adamowicz.
Alan Goodman, The Seeker, ran away from his raider family at a young age looking for a better life. A better family. He eventually discovered Oasis and was welcomed into their arms. For once he belonged. Alan became a devoted follower of Harold, ignoring his pleas for death. However when Cain came along, Cain fulfilled Harold’s request leaving Alan without his “deity” or a purpose. In rage, he tracked Cain and Dogmeat down and killed Dogmeat silently. However this wasn’t enough, he needed to kill Cain.
All he could think about was how he could kill the Lone Wanderer. So, he followed Cain across the remains of The United States seeking revenge. However, he was always days if not weeks behind him. Some time in Texas, struggling through dehydration, starvation, and migraines due to his third eye mutation, he hallucinated a new deity in the stars. One that promised a better future for him and others like him who were looked down upon. This faceless “deity” led him to the Mojave Desert where he formed the cult named The Seekers.
He was addressed as Father Goodman or The Prophet by cultists, and he was called The Seeker by outsiders. By the time Cain became Courier Six, The Seekers had approximately 60 members. Two of them being Crusher and Trigger, Alan’s personal guard dogs who would do whatever Alan asked without question. Even with this new “family” and purpose, he still held a grudge against Cain, always waiting for the moment to finally go through with his revenge. After 7 years, that moment finally came. However, Alan and his cult, approximately 10 now, were low on supplies and people due to stray tunnelers. This didn’t stop The Seeker. Cain, still weakened by the Sierra Madre from years ago, was caught off guard by an attack from Trigger and Crusher. Cain, against all odds, won this fight. Blinded by rage, Alan attacked him. The two fought each other in the dead of night. Soon after, the two slit the arteries in each other's necks, both bleeding out in the desert miles from civilization. The Mojave, now calmer after the Battle of Hoover Dam, was unaffected by the missing Courier and Cultist.
Here's my list of 'Top 5 Characters Evan(me) wishes he could romance within the entire Fallout game series'

5. Nick Valentine
-I like robocop.
-He's one of those characters I talk about constantly to my parents.
-I loved building a friendship with him.
-Idk what else to say but uh... He's a dreamboat???
4. Erickson
-I didn't know how to feel about him at first, but then I was like 🥺
-He's respectful, he takes care of dogs, and he offers me food + a bed to sleep in.
-I've spent over 4,000 caps on buying dogs from him(my favorite being Gracie)
-To be honest, I'd kill to just be bffs with him.
3. Sergeant Arch Dornan
-Bro makes me giggle.
-Would've killed someone to have him as a companion.
-I'm the mo-ron he's talking about.
-I think I'd end up breaking down if he yelled at me.
2. Lieutenant (Lou?)
-He's so elegant like--
-I am not ashamed to say that I'd pick him over Valentine any day.
-Love how he calls me dear human lmao (in the game y'know)
-I do not like how he'd want to turn me into a super mutant tho.
1. ✨Harold&Bob(all games)✨
-God I love him so much.
-He's an extremely lovable character.
-He goes from homeless guy, to cranky peepaw branch, and then all the way to big depressed tree(+he's in the bos game, but I'm if-y on it)
-I really wish he was a fallout companion because then I could read to him and show him my collection of random things.
-Also I love taking care of plants so expect this guy to have the best plant care known to man.

In the cancelled Project V13, also known as Fallout Online, there was a cult that formed around the worship of Harold known simply as the Cult of Harold. The Church of Harold was founded by mutants Blahblahwanna Rubra and Yaddayadda Glutinos (previously known as Bill Smith and Rex Rong) soon after an event referred to as "The Great Shaking."
