Would you rather be pregnant with a horse-sized duck or three duck-sized horses? This is very important.
Easily three duck-sized horses. The kicking would be so intense with that many hooves.

and baby makes four (or five)
(mpreg, pre-relationship geraskier, mutual pining, pregnant jaskier, vague mpreg setting, roach is also mom, baby horse, horse trivia, 1.5k, read on ao3)Â
Jaskier pets the newborn foalâs still-damp mane and grins to himself. The tiny horseâLittle Roachie, he decidesâis laying on the ground, surrounded by soft hay and dozing peacefully. He deserves it after the ordealâwell, Jaskier believes it counts as one. The foaling almost gave him heart palpitations, but Geralt says everything went just as planned and both Roach and the baby are safe and sound.
And they are, finally, when the entire day has passed and the moon is high in the sky.
The witcher himself is feeding the mare their last apple. If the doting was bad before, it has definitely gotten worse since she became a mom. Itâs not like anyone could fault Geralt, Jaskier reckons. Although the sight of the almighty White Wolf indulging his horse is way too precious, not that Jaskier will ever say it to his face. As much as he loves to see Geralt embarrassed, it might be unwise to upset his friend and get left in the middle of this backwater town in his current conditions.
Jaskier cradles the bump that is his stomach and feels his baby peacefully asleep too. Despite the barn being floored with thick hay, the sitting position is growing uncomfortable with everything weighing down on his midriff, and it wonât be long until his back starts aching again.
The foal jerks in his sleep, and Jaskier completely forgets about himself.
âShh, itâs all right. Just sleep, darling. You must really need it if youâre so tiny. Look at how tiny you are.â His hand travels down to its leg and then the hoof. The hoof wall feels soft, or at least, less hard than what one would imagine for an adult horse. A soft gasp escapes his lips as his fingers reach the bottom. âOh, Geralt! Come and see!â

"Whatâs in that straw? Stallion semen, sure. But what quantity, and what quality?
Unless your farm is equipped with expensive, nonportable, high-tech equipment, qualifying semen for artificial insemination operations likely involves a lot of guesswork. A new computer-based program working off an electronic tablet (iPad), however, is bringing reliable information about concentration, motility, and other critical semen aspects right into the breeding barn, according to Belgian researchers. In fact, its results run close to those youâd get with the higher-priced gold standard equipment.
âItâs amazing how parallel the two systems are, meaning you can rely on the mobile system as much as the fixed laboratory system (for real-time results),â said Peter Daels, DVM, PhD, Dipl. ECAR, ACT, of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Gent University in Merelbeke, Belgium.
A new study carried out by Gent University and the De Morette Equine Reproduction Center in Asse, Belgium, showed that the âiSpermâ system provided stallion sperm analysis results in the field that were within 10% of the results obtained by AndroVision and NucleoCounter SPâ100 laboratory devices. These fixed devices arenât portable and cost upward of 20,000 euros ($23,000)."
Itâs the 1st of May!
I like to call this: Foal Season
Itâs when the majority of foals are born and we have four due this year including a few first time mothers! It will be a first for Wendy, Xanthe and Asha while it will be one of many for Merle.
We will keep you all as updated as we possibly can with births over the next few weeks so keep an eye out! :) Fingers crossed that it all goes well!
