Finished a thing today! First stitch started and finished in my new house. Now I'm caught in the conundrum of having made this for myself and the realization that it would also be a great gift for someone else. The challenge being that my track record for finishing projects I've already done once is non-existent. But it's a quick and simple enough pattern I might just have to give it a go.

The new house is amazing, but of course we've already identified some mild to moderate urgency changes and fixes to do but so far nothing outside of the realm of manageable once I have a steady income again. One thing I hadn't expected was to feel as at home in a new city as I have so far. But damn, once you get out of the immediate GTA the people just get so much nicer and less pretentious. I legit feel a little like a Hallmark Christmas movie character that's given up the Big Smoke for a good ol' small community.

I even bought two flannel shirts.

Pair #3 for 2018! Just in time for #FOfriday my "Fruit Of The Vine" Socks are off the needles and ready for a bath. I wanted to show the full length of sock you can get from our new Shorty Sock Twin sets, so you can see I played (and won) a calculated game of yarn chicken🐔 on the cuff. The two 30g balls of yarn that come in these sets still gave me a decent leg length with my size US Women's 9 foot. These were knit toe up with the amazing double gusset on the bottom of the foot by @knitphomaniac . I knit them at 64 st on a US1. These Shorty Sock sets are great for those that want to enjoy the full color spectrum of our gradient or speckle gradient yarns, but (like me) prefer shorter socks or have smaller feet. Our Llark Sock Twins are Speckle dyed so they are slightly fraternal twins of course. We also have our Lleap Gradient Sock Twins available in these Shorty sets. Both are dyed side by side with their twin to make them as closely matching as possible. The next pair I make will be my personally preferred ankle sock length, which should leave me enough to add a little to my scrappy Granny Stripe crochet blanket! Finished Object Friday: In between waiting for my sweater pieces to finish drying after blocking, I ended up making a beanie in the round to test out my new circular needles! (Pattern: The Big Hat by Davina Choy of Sheep & Stitch)

This is me - running triumphantly past the #fofriday finishing line, waving my Windswept sweater as I go. Another 1000m towards my #stashdash goals and still plenty of yarn left over - Rowan Felted Tweed is nothing if not economical. Now I just find to find a plain vest to wear underneath it.
