I met my goal of 12 finished pairs of socks in 2018! I knit socks for family, socks for me, handspun socks, gradient socks, speckle socks, colorwork socks and even a pair of socks with calf shaping! Whew! It was a socktastic year!! I'm not setting a specific number goal of socks to knit for next year but I am planning on continuing to add to my #boxofsocks and there are even some patterned socks calling my name. @jwingate122 is hosting #instaknitnight and here I am still working on my June socks. I decided to add some calf shaping and I wasn't happy with the lifted purl increase I tried first. So...it was banished to time out for about a day; then there was some googling, some tinking and now I am making my way back up the leg with a P1 below increase that I am much happier with. I might winge over ripping back but I never regret it once it's over. Yarn is my "Angel Of Thursday" colorway iny Lleap Sock Twins with k3p1 ribbing to give it some extra Cas vibes. Tonight @jwingate122 wants to know what our favorite flavor of ice cream is. With my June socks finally off the needles these sassy speckles have hopped right on! This is my "Phoenix Hatchling"🐣 colorway on Llark Speckle Sock (SW BFL/Nylon). I used the darker end of this skein for some sample yarn and had to snag the leftovers for some shorty socks! Pair #3 for 2018! Just in time for #FOfriday my "Fruit Of The Vine" Socks are off the needles and ready for a bath. I wanted to show the full length of sock you can get from our new Shorty Sock Twin sets, so you can see I played (and won) a calculated game of yarn chicken🐔 on the cuff. The two 30g balls of yarn that come in these sets still gave me a decent leg length with my size US Women's 9 foot. These were knit toe up with the amazing double gusset on the bottom of the foot by @knitphomaniac . I knit them at 64 st on a US1. These Shorty Sock sets are great for those that want to enjoy the full color spectrum of our gradient or speckle gradient yarns, but (like me) prefer shorter socks or have smaller feet. Our Llark Sock Twins are Speckle dyed so they are slightly fraternal twins of course. We also have our Lleap Gradient Sock Twins available in these Shorty sets. Both are dyed side by side with their twin to make them as closely matching as possible. The next pair I make will be my personally preferred ankle sock length, which should leave me enough to add a little to my scrappy Granny Stripe crochet blanket!
