I chose czech fairy tale Hádanka (Riddle) about this queen who made household items from the bones (and hair) of her lover to take a revenge on his killer.

According to mythology and folklore, Ireland was once ruled by an ancient race of powerful demigods and wizards called the Tuatha Dé Danann. After being defeated by the Sons of Míl and banished to live in the hills, their power and stature diminished, and they became the Sí.

Banshees and leprechauns, púcas and sluagh, the sí appear in many forms and exhibit a wide range of behaviours. Often Anglicised to 'fairies', the Sí are elemental spirits, more comparable to Yokai or Djinn, than the typical small winged fairies of European folklore.

A Voirloup for Wikipedia. The old illustration was Iconic but kind of dated and didn't show much of the creature's unique characteristics.

Voirloups are born of humans with dark souls, who partake in all seven sins, and allow themselves to be possessed by Satan, or Belial. They go through metamorphosis at midnight, coating their lower limbs in a vile mixture known as amalgam, and wearing the pelt of the creature which they will bear the shape of. During the night they kill dogs and livestock, and drink the blood of humans. Their gaze can set fire to thatch. When the dawn comes, their pelt bursts, revealing their human form once more. They spend the daylight hours spying on others, ensuring nothing is written about them. To describe a Voirloup is to be tracked by it. They are immortal, though wounds afflicted to them will leave permanent scars.

A frightening creature for this spookiest of months.

here's a fun fact; i used to draw a lot of tailypos when i was younger, and they're probably the most stolen of my works. i keep running into them in random places online.

Here's a woodland creature inspired by a Wendigo!💫

Wendigo is is a malevolent, cannibalistic, supernatural originating from Algonquian folklore, strongly associated with winter, coldness and starvation.

It's seen as the embodiment of gluttony, greed, and excess: never satisfied after killing and consuming one person, they are constantly searching for new victims.

Searching for information I also found out that in modern psychiatry, there's a disorder known as "Wendigo psychosis" that is characterized by symptoms such as an intense craving for human flesh and fear of becoming a cannibal!
