Four
I'm sorry I've been gone so long! I'll try to update more often now on! x ____________________________________________________________________ Five days later. I laid in bed, staring at my ceiling, it was early afternoon and I wasn't as much tired as I was lazy. I just had no reason to get out of bed, I didn't have to work for five days and I wanted to relax, but I knew I should do something, so I got up. I showered quickly and got dressed, I pulled on spandex track shorts and a tank top, after pulling on my shoes, I left the house. Once outside the heat hit me like a ton of bricks, I'd lived in California for six years and I was sure I'd never get used to the summer heat. I was running and running for what felt like hours, I knew it had only been about two but it felt like way more. After a while I headed back to my apartment and decided to go down to the beach, surf for a while and cool off. I changed and grabbed my board and carried it to my truck and threw it into the box and got in and drove down to Venice Beach. Hitting the water was such a relief, it was like a cleansing, if I could live in the ocean for the rest of my life, I would do just that. After riding the waves for a while and cooling off I got out of the ocean and headed back to my truck to drive home. I got back home, it was really quiet and not like the usual, which was nice once and a while. I went into my bathroom and took all of my clothes off and got into a cold shower. I figured the rest of my night wouldn't be too exciting, I'd eat, watch a movie or something, and sleep, I'd worn myself out. I was standing in my kitchen, making rice and chicken when my phone started to ring. I sighed in displeasure, walking over to answer it. "Hello?" I answered. Chris' voice rang through the receiver, "Annabelle? It's Chris, how are you?" "Oh Chris! Hi, I'm good, how are you?" "I'm great, are you busy right now?" "I don't have to be, no." "Okay good, can you be ready in fifteen minutes?" "Works for me." "Awesome, see you soon." "Alrighty." And with the click of the phone I hustled like I almost never had before. Changing into light blue jean Capri pants and a tight, light green T-shirt. I was sitting outside, waiting for Chris to pull up, I couldn't remember what he drove so the hard part was deciphering if it was him or not. When he pulled up, almost exactly fifteen minutes later he was in a beat up red dodge truck, he looked so calm and relaxed. I hopped into the front seat beside him and he was smiling, he looked so good. "Hi." I said shyly. "Hey there." He said letting out a hearty laugh. "How've you been? It feels like forever ago since I saw you last." "Busy, Dave's been getting us ready for tour, so we've been practicing a lot. What about you?" "Man, I keep forgetting you guys leave soon, first week of September, right? I've been good, glad to be off work for a little bit." "Yeah, two weeks until it starts, Europe." "I wish I could go, that seems so fun." "You should." "I have a job and a life here I have to attend to here though, sadly." "Yeah yeah, true enough." "So where exactly are we going? I mean, you gave me no information whatsoever." "Come on Annabelle, you are not going to make me ruin the element of surprise, are you?" "Maybe." "Well, if you must know, that's too bad, cause you're just gonna have to wait." "Fine, I'll wait then." "Good." A while later we pulled up to this roadhouse bar that had loud music coming from it, it was perfect. We got out of the truck and walked inside, the place was packed, there was a band playing really honky tonk country, it was awesome, we walked over to a small table. "So what are you drinking Belle?" He asked me. "A whiskey straight and a beer, whatever they have, thanks." "Sounds good." I stood there watching the band while I waited for Chris to come back over with the drinks, which wasn't very long. Once he was back and had set the drinks down we started talking a lot more, he told me about his love of country music, more so honky tonk country, but how he thought he wouldn't go anywhere if he'd gone in that direction. "Why do you think that?" I asked him. "I don't know, it just doesn't seem like an option, and I enjoy playing rock, so it's okay." "It makes sense, that's how I feel about wanting to nurse in other places." "Exactly!" I giggled quietly and took a sip of my beer, I looked up at him and smiled, he grinned at me, he had this imperfect, yet perfect smile, it was amazing. "You wanna go somewhere else? Do something?" I asked him. "For sure. Let's get out of here, I will show you a cool place." "Okay, sounds good." We got in his truck and started driving up the coast, we listened to music and talked about anything and everything. About two hours later we were in Santa Barbara. At this house right at the beach, it was beautiful. "It's my parents place, but they live in San Diego now, so my brother and I both have keys for the place if we wanna come here whenever." "It's beautiful Chris." I said, in absolute awe. He walked me around, giving me a tour of the place, it was all amazing. I couldn't believe it at all. Eventually we got to the basement bedroom, which he was telling me was his, and how he'd practice guitar and bass in it when he was a teenager, except now it was more cleaned up, and looked like an adult would sleep in it. "Is this it then? All of the tour?" I asked seductively. "It is, I suppose." He said, laughing a bit. I closed the door and pushed him up against the wall, kissing him hard, he kissed back, sliding his hands down my sides and grabbing onto my hips. I pulled back a little and looked at him and smiled. "Good, then you can show me something else." I said, before leaning into kiss him again.
